During 2019, the Chamber developed, in collaboration with PROEXCA, a public company whose main objective is to attract strategic investment in the Canary Islands, different actions to inform Belgian companies about the investment opportunities available on the Islands. In May, a conference was organized under the title “The Canary Islands: investment destination” targeting Belgian companies in the sectors of renewable energy, ICT, BPO, audio-visual and animation. Following the success of this initiative, a reverse trade mission was organised by the end of November. Potential foreign investors were advised on tax and competitive advantages, and were also provided with the necessary information about the Canary Islands as a destination for their business.
