MAY 14 Ventura County Creative Artists “New Beginnings”

Location: West Hills Gallery, 1545 Cuyama Road Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact: Bobbi Balderman at 805-798-2403 The Ventura County Pastels Artists, including the founder, Bert Collins, have been painting with other mediums in addition to soft pastels. To reflect the additional types of artwork the group now creates, they have changed their name to Ventura County Creative Artists — VCCA.

MAY 14 OSA & OVLC’S “Art in Nature’s Wonderland

Time: 4 to 8 p.m. Location: Ventura River Steelhead Preserve 9458 Baldwin Road Contact: Ovlc.org or ojaistudioartists.org Ojai Studio Artists and Ojai Valley Land Conservancy have partnered for “Art in Nature’s Wonderland,” the groups’ first joint fundraising gala. The event includes dinner, live music, dancing and an auction. Tickets are $150 each.

MAY 28-29 45th Annual “Art in the Park”

Location: Libbey Park Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Ojai Art Center is kicking off its 45th annual Art in the Park celebration Memorial weekend. More than 80 artists will showcase their recent works. Visitors and artists alike can expect big smiles, great music, tasty food, and good times.

MAY 29 Empowerment Workshop’s Co-Ed Softball Tournament

Location: Sarzotti Park 350 Park Road Time: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Contact: theempowermentworkshop.org The first annual softball tournament will feature a three-game minimum. Team fees are $300 and go to support a great cause, raising strong, confident youth who are worthy of following their dreams, have healthy relationships, and capable of creating the lives they dream of.
