Citizens Caring for Children helps kids living in foster care
F
For more than 30 years, Citizens Caring for Children has provided for children living in foster care by meeting their material, emotional and intellectual needs. Citizens Caring for Children is the recipient of the charitable proceeds of this year’s ball, a local nonprofit designated by Bachelors Club President Sam Jackson. After bringing many abused and neglected children into their hearts and home, an Edmond foster family knew first-hand the unaddressed need of clothing and resources children in foster care face after leaving all of their personal belongings behind. They knew more could be done to meet the basic needs of these children and founded Citizens Caring for Children in 1984. Today, Citizens Caring for Children is still committed to the agency's original vision of providing hope, changing lives
CCC partnered with Heritage Hall seniors and Teen Board members Blake Miller, Eddie Cook and Baker Burns to pro‐ vide children with new coats, gloves and winter boots for their Heritage Hall Passion Project. The day was full of shopping with princesses and Spider‐Man, decorating fall cookies, taking part in fun crafts and most importantly — picking out the perfect coat for winter.
and creating healthy futures for children in foster care. Citizens Caring for Children meets the needs of more than 1,600 Oklahoma children in foster care each year through services and programs like the Resource Center, Back2School, which helps children with back-to-school supplies and Joy4Kids,
which brings the holiday spirit to Oklahoma's foster children. “Our programs plant the seeds for a brighter future for children and young adults in foster care,” Citizens Caring for Children officials said. For more information, visit citizenscaringforchildren.org.
