ABOUT Found Postcards A collection of songs setting selections from 40 abandoned postcards discovered and compiled by playwright Gary Winter. Found over years of Gary’s antique-store and used-bookseller browsing, the brief, sometimes enigmatic messages in these postcards are forever frozen in time, and they offer a curious glimpse into capricious sentiments of sweetness, disappointment, sorrow, playfulness, and wonder.

Hallo there how are you I got your postal the 21st of this month and was glad to hear from you. The one you sent me was a dandy. oh Mary I would have came with Mabel the last time but I as sick and could not. Isn’t that a shame. I will come next time.

Dear Walter, We have just returned from the park where we saw “mignon.” I shall hate to leave Paris and shall be glad to get home. Today we spent at the colorful world’s Fair and rode to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Last night we saw the Greek Sculpture in the Louvre in illumination—one of the most impressive sights of the whole trip. The picture on the postcard is of the Palace where we live. I will probably leave soon. May I call you in the shop? Hope everything goes well with you. I shall be seeing you soon. I’m afraid you didn’t get your last letter. I put it in mailbox from Spain. Love, Ruth " Front: Date:

Dear Charlie, I am sending you a photo of my car but can tell you it is a beauty. We have had some jolly spins lately as we are very near Windsor Virginia Water and fifty miles from Brighton which is a lovely run. Hope to have another lovely ride like the last in the Autumn. Will you take me? Best wishes from Gertie
