HIGH LINE PARK Historia y Antecedentes
- 1847 La ciudad de New York autoriza tráfico pesado a nivel vehicular - 1851 - 1929 El número de accidentes por tráfico y desorden vehicular motiva a replantear el tráfico pesado - 1929 Se aprueba el projecto inicial del High Line, en el que se sube el tráfico pesado a una vía elevada a 7 metros de altura sobre el nivel vehicular de 30 km de longitud. - 1934 Se inaugura la linea que recorre entre los edificios comerciales y de manufactura, evitando así los problemas de la autopista elevada y permitiendo el acceso del tren al interior de los edificios, previniendo así el transporte de productos a nivel de tráfico vehicular. - 1950 El crecimiento del transporte por camiones elimina el uso de trenes a nivel nacional. - 1960 La sección sur del High Line es demolida. - 1985 Grupo de inversores propone la demolición de la estructura entera, un grupo de locales de West Chelsea proponen la renovación de la línea y la no demolición - 1999 Se funda la organización “Amigos del High Line” que aboga por la no demolición y la reutilización de la línea - Enero 2002 Se permite conducir un estudio de planeación al arquitecto Casey Jones para producir una diagnóstico acerca de la preservación y la reutilización del High Line
HIGH LINE PARK Historia y Antecedentes
- Marzo 2002 La organización “Amigos del High Line” logra aprovar una resolución en la que se aprueba la renovación de la línea. - Enero - Junio 2003 Se hace un concurso de ideas en el que se propone diseñar y plantear un nuevo uso del High Line - Marzo - Septiembre 2004 Se selecciona el equipo ganador del concurso; una unión entre James Corner Field operations una firma paisajista y Diller + Scofidio + Renfro una firma de arquitectura. - Noviembre 2005 La ciudad de New York termina negociaciones con CSX Transportation inc. y se posesiona del High Line. - Abril 2006 Se inicia la construcción de la primera fase de intervención - 2008 Se inicia la construcción del paisajismo y se revelan los diseños finales para la transformación de la línea en un parque público. - 2009 La fase 1 se abre al público - 2011 La fase 2 se abre al público

(2/2/11) Appendix D Special Regulations for Zoning Lots Utilizing the High Line Improvement Bonus in Subarea H This Appendix sets forth additional requirements governing #zoning lots# located within Subarea H between West 17th and 18th Streets over which the #High Line# passes with respect to a #development# or #enlargement# which involves an increase in the applicable basic maximum #floor area ratio# of the #zoning lot# up to the amount specified in Section 98-22 (Maximum Floor Area Ratio in Subareas), with respect to: (1) the issuance of a building permit for such #development# or #enlargement# pursuant to paragraph (a) of Section 98-25 (High Line Improvement Bonus); and (2) the performance or funding of improvements as a condition of issuance of temporary or permanent certificates of occupancy, pursuant to paragraph (b) of Section 98-25, for #floor area# in such #development# or #enlargement# which exceeds the basic maximum #floor area ratio# of the #zoning lot#. The term “parties in interest” as used herein shall mean “parties-in-interest,” as defined in paragraph (f)(4) of the definition of #zoning lot# under Section 12-10. (a)
