New Season of Growth
OEC Fiber continues to set the landscape for local commercial internet connections
OEC Fiber has made it their mission to take reliable high-speed internet where nobody else will, connecting thousands of Oklahomans in a time they need it most. This mission is not limited to residential homes. OEC Fiber offers the same high-quality service to businesses that they do to their residential subscribers.
Small businesses are a crucial part of any town. These pillars of the community are the backbone that molds them into the places we call home. They require the same connectivity to thrive that their larger competitors do, and OEC Fiber is dedicated to making this happen.
“At OEC Fiber our goal is to build strong relationships with our business subscribers,” says Michelle Hohlier, manager of sales and business development.
“We want to get to know their team, their business, and their communication goals so we can better understand how to serve them.
New Season Landscaping in Noble is just one of these partners. This family owned and operated business has been serving their community for nearly twenty years. Owner, Cole Marsh, started his business as a one-man lawn cutting crew shortly after graduating high school and has seen it grow into a landscape company that offers an array of services ranging from flower beds to pergolas, turning back yards into private oases where people can go after a long day to relax and enjoy the simpler things in life. They even offer 3D imaging, allowing clients a glimpse of what their space will look like in the future.
They pride themselves on their personal touch and doing things right. “It will be a win-win situation at all costs,” said Marsh. He spends time with each client, getting to know them and learning about their vision for the future. He works side-by-side with his crews to ensure that vision is brought to life. They provide fantastic service to their clients and have even had the honor of doing the Christmas lights for downtown Noble for the last two years, donating their time and efforts to decorate the water tower for the last four. Despite their accomplishments, they found themselves hindered by their poor internet service.
“Every time a train would go by, I’d have no internet,” office manager, Allison Miller, reported. “Everything stopped.” She spoke of times when she would be on the phone with a client, collecting their information and setting up quotes when the train tracks directly behind their office would rumble to life and cause them to lose service. That meant asking clients to wait for their internet to come back up before they could finish assisting them. Unfortunately, not everyone was willing to wait.
A loss in productivity can equal a financial downturn in the business world. Not only can daily tasks go unfinished, but it could also lead to money lost because of contracts not being completed, all because a poor internet connection stopped the process.
Having a reliable internet connection has changed how they do business. “It has been like night and day,” says Miller, regarding switching to OEC Fiber. They went from barely being able to run a single computer to having the ability to run multiple devices at once. This also allowed them to improve on-site security by installing cameras, something they never would have been able to do with their previous service.
No more lapses in service have led to better business for this hometown staple. OEC Fiber is proud to be a small part of making more things possible for them and all the homes and businesses OEC Fiber serves.
