Clear Bag Policy in Effect for Annual Meeting

Members planning to attend OEC's Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Night should be aware of the University of Oklahoma's clear bag policy,which will be in effect for the event Aug. 9.

"The safety of everyone...is paramount to us and that's the reason we're implementing these policies," said OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. "These measures have become standard at many sports venues and we have experienced them multiple times as our teams have traveled around the country."

The graphic to the right shows approved and prohibited items. OEC will provide one clear bag per membership at registration, alongwith giveaways.

In addition, all attendees mustwalk through metal detectors prior to entering the venue.

"We do not anticipate this will slow down registration time at all," said Autumn McMahon, manager of member relations. "We are happy to accommodate the University's safety policies, especially when it ensures the safety of our employees and members in attendance."

Registration will take place on the south side of the Lloyd Noble Center Aug. 9 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Please do not plan to arrive earlier than 4:30 p.m., as we do not provide adequate cooling measures outside the venue.
