Sweet Canna-Kisses: A Playful Cannabis-Infused Valentine's Day Delight
Yield: This recipe makes about 40-50 meringue kisses, depending on the size.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Cooling Time: 2 hours to overnight
Total Time: Approximately 4 hours to overnight
Ingredients:
4 large egg whites, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons cannabis tincture (adjust according to potency preference)
Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
First, you’ll want to preheat your oven to 200°F and then line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until frothy. Once it becomes frothy add the cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form. Now you’ll want to gradually add the sugar, about a tablespoon at a time, while continuously beating. Once all the sugar is added, increase the speed and beat until the mixture forms stiff, glossy peaks.
Now’s the time to gently fold in the vanilla extract and cannabis tincture. If you're using food coloring, add it now and fold until just combined. Then transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small kisses onto the prepared baking sheet. Now just bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the meringues are dry to the touch. Turn off the oven and let the meringues sit inside until completely cool, this could take a few hours or overnight. Once they are cool store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
