Malthouse Theatre Being a star is not the point. The wide gain is in the soft skills that count for so much in later life – the unaffected naturalness that comes from losing selfconsciousness. Being able to present ideas and facts and to communicate and inspire an audience of any size is a highly valued skill that owes much to drama.

International College – artist’s impression
The College will admit up to 80 students into Years 10 and/or 11 (international Grades 9 and 10). It will provide a very distinctive, modern and imaginative curriculum, but including intensive help with English and tuition towards IGCSE qualifications. Students will leave equipped for high quality schools in the UK or abroad (most likely North America). Some will come to King’s in the Sixth Form. www.kings-school.co.uk
International College – ground floor layout and bedroom Students will have separate study areas in the boarding accommodation outside their own en-suite double bedrooms.
Classes will be in a maximum of 12, many will be smaller, and most non-practical lessons will be delivered in seminar format. www.kings-school.co.uk
New Science Building A new building will be constructed in the Mint Yard to bring together all science teaching in an integrated department with new purpose-built physics labs and lecture hall. The resulting extra space will provide us with an extraordinary opportunity to transform the way we teach and conduct research. "If you are a scientist, you realise before long that if the world is in anyone's hands, it is in yours." Nobel laureate, Sir John Cornforth

A Vision for King’s While King’s provides an exciting environment for our talented young to prepare for the 21st century, we can be certain that intellectual rigour will continue to be important. Equally, those who can think laterally and can be creative, who can inspire others and can relate to an increasingly diverse society, will be those best equipped to lead and to contribute. A great school should nurture great people – leaders, writers, artists, performers, thinkers and people who contribute to their world and change it for the better.
