ur primary goal is for pupils to enjoy sport at whatever level they choose to play. We aim to provide opportunities for all.
The sports programme promotes key educational values that include fitness and a healthy lifestyle. We encourage pupils to adopt a balanced approach to winning and losing, both as an individual and as part of a team.
Sports Scholarships and bursaries are available in Year 9 and Year 12.

EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME
I
n 2010 the School introduced a Sports Excellence Programme with the aim of raising the standard of sporting performance and encouraging excellence in all sporting activities.
The programme is offered to Sports Scholars and others who display enthusiasm, commitment and potential. Those selected to be part of the programme are able to take advantage of knowledge and experience from elite training spheres. Led by triple Olympian Jen Wilson, supported by other specialist members of the PE and Sports staff, the programme has proved to be a great success with many of our Sports Scholars excelling at international level.
SPORTS TOURS
S
ports Tours are viewed as an important part of a King’s education. Touring offers the opportunity to encounter teams beyond the normal fixture circuit in conditions that are often unfamiliar. Touring strenthens teams and fosters valuable camaraderie. Aside from the sporting benefits, an overseas tour provides a valuable insight into different cultures and lifestyles. Recent tours have included: Cricket and Netball in Dubai Rugby and Hockey in South Africa Rugby in Hong Kong and Japan Football in Spain Lacrosse in the USA Rowing in Italy
