The purpose of this project was to reuse existing space which was no longer in business and after regional and local analysis decide what would be a perfect fit for this specific location. I converted a movie theatre, to a multipurpose building which consisted of banquet halls, a convention center and hotel rooms. With convention centers and banquet halls nearby what makes this location differentiate is the easy access hotel rooms which are located in the same building.

In-Home Consultations Interning with Sherwin Williams was very beneficial because I was able to go for in-home consulations to clients homes and actually experience the Residential Interior Design aspect through that. Twice a week I had three clients color consultations where I would select paint colors, wallpapers and stain for their homes. I also had a chance to work with architects and contractors who would work on the exterior of homes and help determine the right color palette.
Client Interaction From the store I would follow up with our clients about selections we have made earlier at their homes. Also I would e-mail and discuss with them information about our new products at the store and inform them about our events, sales and promotional offers. Beside In-Home consultations we have a big group of preffered customers who come to our store and ask for suggestions and help on different projects which they are planning to start soon.
Product knowledge Working at Sherwin Williams I have learned that staying on top of things is the way to go. Readings emails from corporate everyday was very helpful and beneficial when relating important information on my clients consultations. The company is always growing and intoducing new products to the market place. Knowing what is going on in the industry and what Sherwin Williams offers to the clients help me get the right knowledge on the many different new innovations and products. This knowledge that I have attained can be used in assisting my clients throughout my entire professional career.
Vendor Interaction Interacting with vendors and sales representatives were also a important responsibility at Sherwin Williams. I often emailed vendors regarding pricing, availbility of products and suggestions of how to make our customers very satisfied with their experience. Ocassionally the vendors and sales representatives would come to our store and I had a chance to talk to them in person and brainstorm how to improve client sattisfaction.

Thank You
I would like to say a big thank you to my family, especially my mom and stepfather, who provided support and guidance even though they live far away. Also thank you to my loving husband who helped me get through the hard times at school and who always believed in me. I wouldn’t be here without him. Thank you to my school instructors, especially to Roberto Lama and Suzann Nordstrom for supporting and inspiring me throughout my entire education at the Illinois Institute of Art. They made me feel that dreaming big can be possible and is achievable. At last I would like to thank my AI girls, who were always giving me great advice and helping me through difficult classes.
