what is an adjective? • It is a word that describes a noun (person, animal or thing) • There are three types of adjectives: • Adjectives: to describe a noun • Comparatives: to compare two nouns • Superlatives: to compare three or more nouns

Adjectives • Descriptives: example • It is a big house • Colors: • He´s a white man • Feelings or emotions • She is a happy woman

comparatives • They compare two nouns and you have to use the word THAN after the comparative • for 1 sylable adjectives or 2 sylables that ends in Y • you add -er at the end of the adjective ex: she is taller than my sister • For 2 or more sylables we use the auxilaries more and less • ex: She is more beautiful than my wife sábado 3 de abril de 2010
Superlatives • They compare the nouns and you have to use the word THE Before the Superlative. • for 1 sylable adjectives or 2 sylables that ends in Y. • you add -est at the end of the adjective ex: she is the tallest. • For 2 or more sylables we use the auxilaries most and least. • ex: She is the most beautiful woman.
