EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

CAREER Hello, I’m glad you are here. In the following pages, I´ll show you a selection of my projects. =)

Enjoy flicking through and if you got any questions - feel free to contact me!

While working five years in the exhibition room of a sanitary wholesale I realized my passion for designing rooms and spaces. I deeply enjoyed being part of my costumer’s journey while building or renovating their houses. To catch what caught me, I started my own journey and begun studying interior architecture.

Despite privacy for eight people, the ground floor offers 110m2 shared living space. By supports of the overhead houses are optically delimited three areas. Since there is no physical separation, they can be flexibly separated or used together. In the entrance area is a shared cloakroom. Right behind there is the large communal kitchen with storage space, dining area and seating. To the south of the building seal is intended to the terrain boundary to an outdoor terrace to end cozy summer evenings.

1 PROJECT/

CONCEPTION Botanic Dorm

Out of 140m2 of a locomotive shed not used by the railway anymore, new space for student life is to be created. Contrary to a classic dormitory with separate quarters, this residential complex is more reminiscent of a large residential community. Privacy is limited to minimal space to make room for a large common area. Still with the luxury of own bathrooms. To make this possible, the decision was made quickly to arrange the living areas on a higher level. So 140m2 of the trainshed can be used. Conceptually, a large part of the walls and ceiling are planted to create a new, magical outdoor area inside. The arbitrary arrangement of the living modules at first glance, taking into account the benefits, arises from the basic concept of the botanical garden. The space-saving, orthogonal ground plans of the modules are arranged organically to get closer to nature in the formal language. Thus, the houses in combination with the horizontal and vertical greenery form the image of an indoor garden.

Each of the five 3.30 x 3.30m large homes is equally equipped. In addition to the five square floor plans, there is a barrierfree module (house No6). In addition, on the opposite side upstairs there is a house for two people. Individually, the interiors with the same interior were adapted to the respective circumstances. At the residential buildings o2 to o7, there is an approximately 2x1m large light lock from the interior to the nearest window.

Thus, in addition to the roof windows, the lighting is protected by daylight, as well as the fresh air supply. The lock modules made of 50mm blockboard connect directly to the posts and latches of the exterior glazing and additionally anchor the construction. The bed above the bath can be reached via a pull-out ladder. More pictures here!

CONCEPTION Camper Shoe Store B-B

In the fifth semester as my second project work, we should plan a camper store in an already existing floor plan. The primary focus was on the holistic planning. Ventilation, storage, showroom, lighting, routing, external presentation, feasibility, gaze guidance and legal foundations. Since I was able to find out in the research that other camper shops often use simple materials to furnish complex rooms (see Camper Store Milano by Kengo Kuma), I opted for the cost-effective material squared timber. In combination with the use of the plugin Grasshopper, I was able to generate complex geometrical figures that redefine the space in the room. Wallwashers illuminate the colored slats and exhibition spaces of the shoes to be sold, thus directing the eyes of the customers into the shop from the outside.

Georgi Georgi Feodosjewitsch Woronoi, who used the Voronoi algorithm to successively calculate the best diophantine approximations, laid the foundation for the Voronoi diagram. The 78 individual parts of the 70cm large seat shell are manufactured in two steps on the CNC milling machine. This not only saves material, but also ensures that the grain direction and the curvature of the seat shell go hand in hand. The frame is bent from 8mm round steel and with four insertion sleeves to the seat shell form-fitting connected. Leyendecker Holzland Trier financed the wooden planks and showed the chair in their exhibition room for almost two years.

Fascinated by the idea of bending a fire tornado I created my own fire twister. The air vortex is created in a concrete base, topped with a stainless steel plate. The slats are directed exactly to the inner edge of the upper glass cylinder. This way, the air vortex can be kept stable up to a height of 90cm. Sophisticated shape of high-quality materials. Timeless design with attractive colors and a thoughtful concept. A precise processed product in a sustainable packaging. Those are the important things about a good value. Due to the increased supply of fresh air, the amount of released energy increases enormously. Also the air circulation in the room created by the chimney effect ensures a rapid spread of heat, which makes it possible to easily heat rooms up to a volume of 75m3 within a 5 - 10 minutes.

In addition to the financial constraint, we had the requirement to store the bar space-saving when not in use, which is why we opted for a plug-in furniture with fixing screws. Last year the bar was used at more than 10 events

FURNITURE PlugBar

For an interdisciplinary project week, I offered my own initiative to lead a project to represent the Department of Interior Design. The idea to build a new bar out of the wood remnants of a completed project came to a fellow student and me, as we have so far assembled something new for every event in order to use it as a bar. Eleven students chose the one-week course under furniture design and together with little financial resources we created the new bar. The glass box tilted backward serves primarily as a dispenser for the typical mixed drinks for the respective events. The weight of the largest wooden panels was reduced by 70% by milling.

The 50mm blockboards were delivered milled in the frame and processed until they were joined together with the use of plug-in dowels, glued and screwed. Within 7 days, the up to 3.80m high installation was built and set up. Because of the enormous time pressure was worked into the nights inside. On 24th September 2017 on the Reformation Day, the installation was successfully used for the festivities.

FURNITURE Luther Table In this interdisciplinary project, Intermedia designers, architects and interior designers have put together an interactive installation in front of and in the Konstantin-Basilika Trier, which deals with the life and work of Martin Luther. On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation, the Evangelical Church wanted to create a table where people gather and communicate. In the end the Table turns into a huge interactive installation which offers its visitors at five stations the opportunity to playfully engage with the life and work of Martin Luther. At the same time, the core ideas of the Reformation movement are examined in more detail and brought into a current context. After we worked out and evaluated different designs together, we decided to design an architecture student. After half a year of development, we teamed up to build the building-penetrating table in the historic walls.

PROJECT RE ALIZ ATION

In order to complement the teaching limited in this area by aging professors in this area, I learn a lot through web tutorials and simple testing. The Kangaroo plugin, which I’ve been working with for a few weeks, complements Grasshopper with physics, which allows organic forms to be generated naturally. I can access and rebuild the now more than 50 selfcreated parametric tasks at any time or copy them from archived files. In my professional future, I would like to continue working with scripting programs and complement many areas of architecture and interior design.

DISHES Parametrics

The scripting of simple tasks, which are executed several times in a similar way saves time and nerves. But by scripting related tasks much more is possible. Buildings like the Olympic Stadium in Beijing or the absolute towers would be very difficult to design without this procedure. Modules like Grasshopper, Kangaroo & Co. make it possible today to generate complex constructions and geometries. I would like to emphasize my preference for parametric constructions and would like to be able to continue working in this forward-looking area in the future. At Trier University of Applied Sciences, I worked as the assistant to Professor Martin Schroth in teaching and changed with him the weekly course “construct III. I have been able to work and study on many projects ranging from attractor-dependent geometries to selflocking knots to complex self-stiffening constructions. Here is just a selection of reworked smaller projects.

R 360°

In 2017, when I supported a design workshop of the Department of Communication Design by helping a team of students from Trier and Opole (Poland) with 3D printing, visualization and finally feasibility of the projects with words and deeds, I came for the first time in touch with Unity. The design workshop took place in one of our partner universities in Poland, where I was allowed to familiarize myself with my tasks in the field of Virtual Reality. In order to be able to familiarize myself more deeply with this trend-setting technique, I acquired a HTC Vive and created several 360 ° still images for my semester project „Botanic Dorm“ and also created a scenario in which one can move freely through the buildings.

DISHES Motion Picture & Film

Never before has the presentation of a company been as important as it is today. Even though competitive suitability depends primarily on the products or services, the company‘s identity is increasingly becoming the focus of the end user. I laid the foundation for the acquisition of shooting and editing techniques in Taiwan with the purchase of a consumer drone, the DJI Spark. So far, I only have several travel clips, but these skills can also be used to stage a completed architectural project or image films. In order to make my time during the semester break meaningful and instructive, I started to learn motionpicture skills in Cinema4D. After some tutorials, I became familiar with the user interface. There is still a lot to learn for me, but smaller clips or overlays are no longer a problem.
