The University of Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship
The ADVANTAGE Scholarship offers no-cost tuition for students who qualify for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship (MAS) and the federal Pell grant. In addition, the ADVANTAGE Scholarship can significantly benefit other The University of Olivet students.
THREE WAYS TO BENEFIT
1. For students who qualify for the MAS and are Pell-eligible, published tuition and general fees will be NO COST after all Michigan and Federal grants are applied.
2. Students who qualify for the MAS and come from families whose adjusted gross income is $100,000 or less will pay no more than $5,000 in published tuition and general fees for the academic year to attend The University of Olivet after all Michigan and Federal grants are applied.
3. For students who qualify for the MAS and come from families who earn more than$100,000 in adjusted gross income, The University of Olivet will pledge at least $20,000 of institutional funds toward published tuition and fees.
Students are still responsible for the following:
• Room and board (housing and meals)
• Books
• Additional fees not part of the ADVANTAGE Scholarship
• Incidentals
The UOlivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship is applied to the cost of tuition only.

GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS
Detroit Promise
Up to full cost of tuition at The University of Olivet.
• Live in Detroit for all four years of high school.
• Attend all four years and graduate from a high school in Detroit. (This can be any combination of Detroit high schools for all four years.)
• Award funded through a combination of The University of Olivet scholarships and grants, federal aid and state grants (based on eligibility). Visit detroitpromise.com for more details.
Kalamazoo Promise
• Amount based on length of attendance and residency in the Kalamazoo Public School system.
• Full-time, residential student.
• Graduates from Kalamazoo Central and Kalamazoo Loy Norrix.
Lansing Promise
Up to the full cost of tuition and fees at The University of Olivet.
• Must be full-time, residential student.
• Must be eligible for the Lansing Promise scholarship based on qualifying criteria.
• Award funded through a combination of The University of Olivet scholarships and grants, federal aid and state grants (based on eligibility) and the Lansing Promise Foundation scholarship. Visit lansingpromise.org.
New Michigander Award - $5,000/year
($20,000 over four years)
Nonresidents of Michigan with a 2.5 or higher GPA.
Sibling Award - $2,000/year
Families with multiple siblings enrolled during same academic year(s) at The University of Olivet.
Veterans Award - 50% off tuition/year
Veterans with required days of active duty service or who are currently on active duty including National Guard or any recognized branch of the U.S. military reserve unit who qualify for VA education benefits and/or military education assistance eligibility or spouses and legal dependents.
FEDERAL & STATE GRANTS
Pell Grant up to $7,395/year (2024-2025)
The Pell Grant is a need-based program for eligible college students. Eligibility is determined from the FAFSA. One-half of your Pell Grant will be credited to your account each semester.
Michigan Achievement Scholarship up to $5,500/year
Students must be first-time, full-time students and have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $30,000 or less. Students who are eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and a Pell Grant will be eligible for The University of Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarshp, which provides free tuition.
It All Starts with the FAFSA!
Colleges and universities use the Free Application for Federal Finanical Aid (FAFSA) form to determine eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, state and other types of financial aid. The FAFSA must be completed every year you are in college to remain eligible for financial aid.
FAFSA forms for the 2025-2026 academic year will be available to complete online by December 2024. Watch for more information about FAFSA in emails from UOlivet. You are encouraged to complete your FAFSA as early as possible to ensure you receive the most financial aid that you are eligible for.
