Shenzhen The project site is located in Shenzhen, China.Shenzhen is located in south China, southern Guangdong province, and is connected with Hong Kong across the Shenzhen River.It is one of the four central cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.At the same time, it is also an international comprehensive transportation hub, an international scientific and technological industry innovation center and a global ocean center city. As a coastal city with convenient transportation, Shenzhen became one of the fastest growing cities in China in the 1970s due to its good geographical location.The development of economy drives the development of the whole city.The rapid development brings opportunities to the city, but also brings some urban problems.Urban village is one of the more acute problems.

Shenzhen is adjacent to Hong Kong, with convenient transportation, mild climate and beautiful scenery.In utilizing foreign capital to develop economy, it has advantaged condition.In 1978, under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping, the state designated Shenzhen as a special development area. With the financial support of the state, Shenzhen has developed from a small coastal fishing village into a national economic center.

Regional Position There are so many villages in Shenzhen, that they are scattered all over the city, providing people who come to Shenzhen with a convenient and cheap place to live. The Nantou ancient city is one of them. Nantou ancient city is located in Nanshan District.It is in the heart of Shenzhen.The transportation is convenient and the peripheral function block is complete.Due to its convenient location and its proximity to labor factories such as the Shenzhen Development Zone, nantou has attracted many migrants to live there. Therefore, it can be speculated that the number of people living in Nantou ancient City will increase with the continuous introduction of migrant population in Shenzhen.This will put some pressure on the existing living environment of Nantou ancient city.

Nantou has multiple identities: for the migrant workers who live here, it is a temporary home; For the surrounding residents, it can provide cheap small restaurants, convenience stores for them; For tourists, it is an ancient city with a history of hundreds of years, the origin of the city's history and culture, and it has a high tourist value. However, due to the terrible environment, the current Nantou ancient city is difficult to provide people with a good living environment and convenient services. Meanwhile, its historical architectural landscape is also blocked by the noisy environment.

Existing Problems and Strategies The existing problems of the Nantou ancient city can be roughly divided into four points: 1. The distance between buildings is too close, and the road is narrow. 2. Road traffic is under heavy pressure when there is a large number of people. 3. The public environment in urban village is poor, with chaotic streets, few green vegetation and few public spaces. 4. The old buildings in the urban village have not been repaired and have lost their cultural value. The poor environment in urban village will degrade the quality of life of residents. At the same time, due to the environmental impact of the urban village, the historical value of Nantou ancient city has not received the corresponding attention, and tourists seldom come to visit. Under such circumstances, the ancient city of Nantou is gradually become an ordinary village in the city.Therefore, it is necessary to change the environment of Nantou ancient city in order to give residents a better living experience and let more people understand the historical charm of Nantou ancient city. 25

Draft of Path After determining the general functional block in the urban village, the route is refined.The red marks the historic buildings in the urban village.In blue, existing open Spaces in urban villages are marked, while in yellow, houses of too poor quality can be demolished. By connecting the red historic buildings, it can get the tour route of historic buildings in the urban village.The blue public area can be connected in tandem to get the path where the residents can generate activity.By removing the yellow part, the public area in the urban village can be effectively enlarged, the service radius of the public area can be expanded, and the crowded environment can be improved.

Point 1 is located on the main road from the main entrance of the urban village .As a necessary route for tourists, it needs to add public and recreational features to attract tourists into the urban village. Considering tourists' demand for entertainment venues, the road will be planned with creative shops such as cafes, bookstores and studios.

The location of point 2 is the road junction of the urban village, with a large flow of people. Combined with the surrounding public space and historical space, it can become an important landscape node of the urban village.
Point 3 is also located at the intersection of the road. As the midpoint of the entrance park and the zhongshan Park tour route, it can be used as a landscape platform to enjoy the view of the village in the city while overlooking the park in the distance.
The land resource in the urban village in the city is tight, vegetable planting can consider the factory building with larger roof area.And connect the roof to each other through the corridor.

Modle of skywalk Skywalk was added to relieve traffic pressure on the main road.Meanwhile, in order to facilitate better walking experience for tourists, skywalk continues from the main entrance of Nantou Ancient City to the central public space and then to the entrance of Zhongshan Park.Therefore, skywalk can also connect the landscape around nantou Ancient City. In order to better integrate skywalk with the surrounding building environment, the model tries to connect skywalk in a variety of ways. First, it chooses the area to erect skywalk, and then finds out the building blocks that can be connected with the footpath, finally maximizes the integration of surrounding buildings and generates new public space.

Modle of Workshop Area The studio area was sited on a deserted public space.The building was designed on the basis of reference to shenzhen's climate and historical building types.Spaces are left between the volumes for ventilation.

The redesigned urban village will be primarily connected by a landscaped walkway, new commercial blocks, central public Spaces, entrepreneurial studios, and a rooftop planting area. The landscape footpath separates the flow of people from the flow of traffic and relieves the traffic pressure.At the same time, the walkway will be linked to the new type of block which will introduce entertainment and commerce, allowing direct access to the second-floor shops via the walkway. The first floor will serve as an open market for vegetables.People can have a market day here. The central public space is a sunken square where people can sit and have a rest. It is also used as a venue for activities during festivals. Entrepreneurial studios and public spaces are closely linked to make it easier for people to create more interesting public Spaces. The roof planting mainly chooses the large industrial factory roof and use the landscape platform as the vertical traffic.
