The Hip Store OLIVIA BASSO
WRITTEN PROPOSAL
STUSSY
OVERVIEW OF CONCEPT
Brand Concept Overview - the concept for the shoot is going to be unisex streetwear clothing - tageting at both males and females - switching the focus from male skateboarders to females too - olympic inspired clothing - Main colours used will be Blue, red, yellow, black and green which all represent the 5 ringsof the Olympics logo - skateboard will be used as a prop
Concept in detail The concept for this shoot is going to be unisex streetwear clothing targeted at both genders, Both The Hip Store and Stussy target their work at males, hypebeasts who are more interested in the understates brands that their specific subculture are aware of and also stylish older men who have a dispoable income. Considering Stussy is a traditional skateboarding brand who began by making skateboards rather than clothing I of course wanted to include this in the shoot to bring something new and fresh to The Hip Store. Skateboarding is now becoming a more popular and understood sport, with it being announced it will become an Olympic sport and the 2021 Olympic games. I thought it would be a clever and a unique idea to create some merchandise promoting this. Furthermore, making it into a unisex collection create inclusivity for all genders and creates something different for the consumer. With The Hip Stores competitors such as Nike and Size, they include many different brands that invovle a unisex concept and therefore tailor their products at a wider group of people. In order for The Hip Store to strive and compete with competitors they will have to do so too.
Location - outside
- coucil estate - urban feel to it - skatepark The shoot will take place outside in both a skatepark and a council estate where there will be tall buildings behind nad a graffiti wall. This will overall help stick with the urban, youth and rebelious aesthetic that the clothing will portray.
Digital Mock Ups
Illustrations - these are some illustrations I have done on Adobe Sketch, experimenting with different patterns and colours in the same way illustrator Brisseaux has.
Digital Mock - Ups
- I intend for these to be displayed in an instore lookbook and on the social media accounts for The Hip Store
- create illustrations over the images for the e-commerce (social media pages)
- they add some colour and something fun and different for The Hip Store as alot of their website and social pages are
- adds something fun and differnt to their pages
dull and simple
- draws in the customers
Angles and Models - Models will stand closer together perhaps holding hands or leaning on eachother. - This shows a more inclusive approach and shows that the clothing is for anyone and everyone - the models will be dressed in the same exact clothing rather than a girls version and a boys version
