In surveys conducted by NAR (National Association of REALTORS®), lack of communication from their agent was the number one complaint from sellers. In late 2020, we had the good fortune to work with Rich and his associates during the process of selling and buying a home in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic. While the market was heating up, the process of moving was inhibited by the COVID protocols.

With the help of Rich and his team, we navigated these unchartered waters successfully. It began with listing our home, and Rich guided us through the process. It had been decades since we had sold a home, so the new strategies Rich recommended were extremely helpful, and certainly contributed to the eventual sale of the property.

As with many transactions, the devil is in the details. Rich was extremely helpful with the never-ending negotiations that occurred. He kept the process on an even keel throughout and guided us toward the best possible outcome.

We have known Rich and his wonderful family for years now. There are many excellent real estate professionals in this market, but I don’t know any more honest and forthright. He conducts his business (as does his staff) with an enormous knowledge of the local market, and in a manner that has never compromised his integrity. Regardless of market conditions, and they always change over time, Rich will get the job done because of who he is 100% of the time.

Make no mistake…buying and selling a home is a difficult and emotionally draining experience under the best of circumstances. Working with Rich, however, mitigates any concern that things will not be done in the proper manner. A seasoned real estate professional and resident of the Lowcountry since 2013, Courtney knows there is far more to a real estate transaction than simply buying or selling a house. For those relocating to the area, it’s a matter of starting their new life in the Lowcountry.

Originally from Northeast Pennsylvania Terri Brackenbury discovered the Lowcountry back in 2009 when her and her Husband Dennis decided to rent a home on Hilton Head for the winter to get away from the Cold Northeast. After renting for a few more winters on HH they decided to buy an investment property/winter getaway and chose a golf Cottage in Hampton Hall which they purchased in 2015. In June of 2021 they decided the winters weren’t enough and they wanted to make the move permanent and purchased on Callawassie Island which they now call home with their 2 adorable bulldogs.

Terri became a realtor in Pennsylvania back in 2010 and brings a very diverse knowledge of residential real estate with her to the Lowcountry. Her main attribute is her thoroughness in making sure every detail is covered from the start of a transaction to its completion. Terri is uniquely suited to helping others who are looking to make the Lowcountry their new home as she has gone thru the entire process herself over the last 13 years and can share her unique perspectives on making this transition an easy one. Over 1,750 firms qualified for this year’s RealTrends 500. According to a research report produced by RealTrends, the 500 largest residential real estate brokerage firms in the nation closed over 3.9 million residential sales transactions in 2020. These transactions were valued at over $1.6 trillion and represented over one-third of all new and resale transactions completed by brokers during the year, yet the RealTrends 500 represented less than 0.5 percent of all brokerage firms. RealTrends 500 ranked Charter One Realty as one of the top brokerages in the nation by transaction sides and closed sales. Additionally, Charter One Realty

ranked as one of the top independent brokerages in the nation and was named a member of the RealTrends “Billionaires Club.”

This year’s survey represents the most comprehensive collection of data assembled on the leaders of the residential brokerage industry. Numbers are documented by outside accounting firms and/or MLS reports.

It took 2,092 transactions to be included in this year’s RealTrends 500, and in 2020 there were 347 firms recording over $1 billion in residential sales, up from 301 firms accomplishing this in 2019.
