When Yank noticed people suffering in the worst living conditions, he became resolute to serve humanity. Yank was involved with the Syrian refugee crisis impacting Bulgaria and its neighbouring countries. To date, more than 1,200 refugees have received assistance through Yank Barry’s Global Village Champions Foundation. He is glad to help these refugees and providing them with new life and hope in Global Village Refugee Safe-houses in Sofia, regardless of their country of origin, race, gender ethnicity or religion.
