Designing a house for a four member family in Triq Baskal, Mosta. Due to the site constrictions, the use of courtyards was introduced for maximization of light and ventilation

when the kids grow up and eventually move out, the house can then be divided into two seperate homes by closing off the staircase and converting the lower part into a shelving system. the parents will occupy the ground floor whilst the first floor can then be rented. access to the first floor given via an outdoor stairs.

An EXTENSION to the original piece of furniture which can be RELOCATED

Kitchens have a tendancy to host various activities at once however the problem with small homes is that there is no adequet space. Young children enjoy having company yet there isn’t always the space available.

A way of maintaining the interaction between parent and child regardless of the space provided is to provide a seperate working space for the child; a furniture which moves, is interacting and therefore fun.
