the experience being labeled as a “slut” being treated less of a person because of being sexually experienced. Having slutty behavior for female or male has sexist differences, when a woman is labeled as a slut and being called out for her “aggressive” sexuality she is shamed for it but when the same behavior occurs with men they are congratulated. When a woman expresses her sexuality she is quick to be labeled a slut without any exception, but when a boy does the same there is a social pass claiming that “boy will be boys” brushing off their “slutty” behavior.
why slut-shaming is problematic is because it refrains any expression of sexiness and policed behavior and outer appearance. so why not just refrain yourself from expressing your sexuality and prevent from being labeled as a slut. the problem with that is when a female is reclusive from sex is labeled as a prude which also has a negative connotation. in conclusion you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
In human sexuality, slut-shaming is a form of social stigma applied to people, especially women and girls, who are perceived to violate traditional expectations for sexual behaviors. Some examples of circumstances where women are "slutshamed" include violating accepted dress codes by dressing in perceived sexually provocative ways, requesting access to birth control, having premarital, casual, or promiscuous sex, or being raped or otherwise sexually assaulted (which is known as victim blaming).
1 Emphasis on purity and virginity on girls. Girls are taught at a young age to stay pure and virginity is what makes and graceful, signifying to not celebrate your sexuality or body. For example, the south or very christian oriented families forces young girls to take part in purity balls and purity rings 2 Media portrayal of men a n d women. In tabloids to TV to social media the treatment between women and men are significantly different. In tabloids and
magazines there are articles about how hot a topless fit young male star is; with endless glorification of being the perfect specimen and a great role model for kids. O n the flip side if the same situation occurred but the star is female sporting a bikini, there would be endless bashing of how she is thirsty for

3 Believe it or not most girls were probably taught or slut shamed by their parents. Always telling you look a like ho with that skirt or the top is cut to low and constantly telling you you don't want the wrong kind of attention.
The fact that the male gaze determines w h e t h e r your deem a slut or not is misogynistic and teaches girls being promiscuous is shameful, while boys aren’t having the same talk with their parents.

Slut means a social construct used to hold women to a stricter set of standards than the ones men are held to.
5 Ninety-nine percent of the respondents, which included some men, said they had been harassed at least a few times. Over 65 percent said they were harassed on at least a monthly basis.
Conducted across a month in fall 2008, there were 811 female respondents (916 total). Over 99 percent of the female respondents said they had experienced some form of street harassment (only three women said they had not). In one question they could indicate the types of interactions they have had with strangers in public, here is a sampling of their responses.

Slut is just a term that insecure men use as psychological warfare to maintain a dominant position over women.

The term slut and what it means to be a slut has changed its meaning for me as I've matured over the years. In my high school years being called a slut was derogatory

and embarrassing — the slut was the girl who got around and had a lot of negative gossip surrounding her. The slut was a threat to us other girls. The slut was having threesomes while the rest of us barely knew how to insert a tampon correctly. Now, in my late 20s, slut has become a term of empowerment. My friends and I relish the term, because rather than seeing the slut as a threat to other women, it serves as a threat to patriarchal society. Being a slut then means being independent, self-assured, and self-determining in all aspects but especially in our bodies and our sexuality, which has always been held against us.

About 62 percent of women say a man has purposely blocked their path at least once and 23 percent said this has happened at least six times.

The Amber Rose SlutWalk is a completely inclusive space. This event will have a zero
tolerance policy on all hateful language, racism, sexism, ableism, fat-shaming, transphobia, or any other kind of bigotry. Further, we recognize that shaming, oppression, assault and violence have disproportionately impacted marginalized groups including women of color, transgender people and sex workers, and thus we are actively working to center these groups in this event. We deeply value the voices of marginalized groups and have a strong desire to find common ground among all of our intersections.
