Fire Department Information

The Ralston Fire Department was organized in 1932 by several local residents and businessmen. Since that time the department has incorporated. The City of Ralston contracts with Ralston Fire & Rescue Inc. to provide fire suppression and advanced life support EMS. The Ralston Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. is located at 7629 Park Drive in Ralston. Currently, the station consists of three apparatus bays, with two housing engines and one housing ambulances and a rescue truck. The station has a large training room where members train and meetings are held. There is a bunk room in which firefighters can stay the night if they choose, a workout gym and an upstairs lounge with easy access to the training room, kitchen and bathrooms. The main administrative office is located on the first level.

Smoke Alarm Project Jr. Fire Patrol Explorer Program Stop The Bleed

The Ralston Fire Department has partnered with the American Red Cross for a program called “Sound the Alarm.” This program allows us to install smoke alarms in Ralston residences free of charge. To request this service, call the fire station at 402-331-5369.

This program has been apart of the department for more then 30 years. It is held in the fall and teaches fourth grade students about fire and EMS topics and how to be safe by creating fire escape plans for your house and locating fire hazards. The Ralston Fire Department has created an explorer program for kids between the ages of 14 and 18 in high school. These kids meet on Monday nights and learn every aspect of being a firefighter. This program helps teach people of all ages what to do in a traumatic incident and the importance of stopping the bleed when someone has a serious injury. Multiple instructors make it possible to offer classes at your convenience.
