O-pa aims to create safe, welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can connect, learn, and be themselves. If you need access to a resource not listed, please contact ticketomaha@o-pa.org and we will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodation. Please let a staff member or volunteer know if there is anything you need. You can find our team at the accessibility desk on-site for the event, or throughout the event space.

Once arriving at the venue, sighted guides will be available.
Wheelchair Accessible
The presentation space is wheelchair accessible, and there is ramp access to the main entrance of Hot Shops. Restrooms are also wheelchair accessible. Volunteers will be in the presentation space to help move furniture as needed.
Calming Spaces
Calming spaces will be located throughout the venue. There will be at least one space inside and weather permitting there will be access to one space outside. The outside calming space doesn’t have a direct ramp to the ground, so there is a slight deviation from the building to the pavement. Volunteers can help direct you to these areas.

social narrative
I am going to an art gallery at Hot Shops. There may be construction happening next door, which may be loud. I can wear headphones or earplugs to help with the noise.
I can park in the parking lot across the street from Hot Shops and walk across to the main entrance. I may see semi-trucks and other cars drive by.
The entrance to the Hot Shops gallery has a ramp entrance on both sides of the door. There may be signage or staff showing the entrance to the building.
When I enter the gallery, I will see paintings and sculptures throughout the space.
I can use my eyes to look at these things or ask for assistance in audibly describing some of the pieces.
There may be some art I can touch but I will need to ask if I can touch something first.
The presentation space may have tables with tactile interactives and chairs set up to watch and listen to the presentations. The sound may get louder when presenters are singing or using a microphone to speak. I know I am free to be myself and do what I need to do to best experience the art.
I know if I become overwhelmed, I can ask someone to show me to a sensory break space or checkout a sensory kit which may have tools I can use to help me.
There will be an accessibility table at the Hot Shops entrance. I can check out a sensory kit from volunteers, request audio description, or ASL interpretation.
If I need access to a resource not listed in this sensory guide, I can contact ticketomaha@o-pa.org at least 2 weeks prior to the event, and they will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodation. If it is within the 2 weeks of the event, I can still request a specific service but there is no guarantee they will be able to provide it.
