hen OXYX Automotive launched in January 2020, the concept was to showcase four premium automotive brands and bring in the best professionals in the area with expertise in luxury automobiles sales and service. Many satisfied customers can attest that the ONYX model has been a success, but the company has also received prestigious industry recognition as a two-time BMW of North America Center of Excellence Award winner and an inaugural and repeat winner of MINI USA’s Golden Bulldog Award.
In March, BMW of North America announced its annual Center of Excellence (COE) award winners for 2023, recognizing ONYX’s BMW of Omaha as one of only 32 BMW dealers—less than 10% of the total—across the country that deliver “exceptional results in sales, service, and customer experience.” This award is the highest honor a BMW dealer can receive, reflecting both overall customer satisfaction and operational performance. BMW of Omaha also received the honor in 2022, making it a back-to-back winner. It has also has the distinction of being the only winner in the state of Nebraska.
Six key performance indicators were used to measure and compare all BMW centers in the country. Sales and aftersales factors were considered, along with customer satisfaction surveys. According to BMW of North America, winners outperformed their peers across these categories both years.

“It’s a great honor to be named a BMW North America Center of Excellence,” said BMW of Omaha General Manager Drew Friesen. “BMW is an outstanding brand that we strongly believe in. We believe that purchasing an automobile should be a world-class experience. The Center of Excellence is a reflection of our deep commitment at ONYX to ensure a truly outstanding visit—every time—for every customer.”
Also in March, MINI USA, a division of BMW of North America, announced its second annual Golden Bulldog Award winners. ONYX’s MINI of Omaha was recognized as one of only 11 of MINI USA’s top-performing MINI dealers across the U.S. Like BMW’s COE designation, the Golden Bulldog Award represents a dealer’s exceptional results in sales, service, and customer experience. Not only did MINI of Omaha receive the award in 2023, it was also an award winner in 2022, the year the Golden Bulldog was introduced. MINI of Omaha was the only 2022 and 2023 winner in the state of Nebraska.
The award name is inspired by the bulldog stance and demeanor associated with the modern MINI. For years, MINI’s iconic mascot has been the English bulldog, which has appeared in advertising and even as a plush toy. Not only are the MINI and English bulldog both British, they also share a wide stance and facial profile along with tenacity in a small package.
“Our dealers play a vital role as the primary customer touchpoint in representing our brand with a compelling and uniquely ‘MINI’ customer experience,” said Mike Peyton, vice president for MINI of the Americas. “I, along with the entire MINI team, congratulate this year’s Golden Bulldog winners for their outstanding results and their ongoing dedication, hard work, and commitment to MINI.”
MINI’s 104 United States dealers were measured on the same six sales and after-sales key performance indicators, including customer satisfaction surveys, as their BMW COE counterparts. Like the other winners, MINI of Omaha outperformed its peers across these categories throughout both 2021 and 2022. Only about 10% of American MINI dealers have earned the Golden Bulldog Award in their first two years.
