THE RSM / IESDE EXECUTIVE MASTERS IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (XFM) Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University Rotterdam and Instituto de Estudios Superiores en Dirección de Empresas (IESDE) have joined their resources and expertise to collaborate in an Executive Masters in Financial Management Program (XFM). The XFM is a part-time academic program tailor-made for professionals involved in positions where financial information is crucial to excellent performance.
By understanding the theory behind financial tools, the XFM Program enables its participants to make better, more well-informed decisions to financial problems. The RSM / IESDE Executive Masters in Financial Management will offer graduate recruits for finance and executives in the financial sector an outstanding program to keep track with the latest developments in financial management. The Executive Masters in Financial Management degree is offered by RSM in conjunction with IESDE, and graduates will have access to RSM’s Masters in Financial Management (MFM) global alumni network as well as the extensive IESDE alumni network.

CONVENIENT FORMAT
EXECUTIVE LEARNING
Courses are delivered over an 18-month period, in 3-day sessions (Wednesday-Friday), once per month. The program involves a 3 day study trip to New York, with visits to financial institutions and other important parties in the financial sector1. Classes will be held at the beautiful Hacienda de San Fernando in the south of Mexico City.
Learning in the XFM is different to traditional university learning. Designed to maximize knowledge sharing, dialogue-driven lessons engage you in crosscultural discussions with educators and peers. Teaching methods include workshops, case studies, and team as well as independent work.

TEACHING FACULTY
Fully taught in English, the curriculum integrates perspectives and best practices from around the globe. Teaching focuses on filling knowledge gaps and strengthening areas that you have not yet had an opportunity to develop.
RSM and IESDE have assembled an outstanding cohort of global faculty to facilitate your learning. Core faculty members are drawn from RSM’s world-class research institute as well as other leading schools worldwide, providing a rich plurality of content and perspective. Executives and industry experts from Mexico and other places are also invited to discuss pertinent industry developments and current challenges.

XFM CURRICULUM
The objective of XFM is to deliver a comprehensive program to professionals working in/with finance, with a balance between Corporate Finance, Investment, and Financial Markets subjects. As a part-time academic program where you can use the knowledge learned immediately on the job, the XFM Program includes workshops, business cases, and coverage of actual topics in the news. The foundation of the XFM Curriculum is 11 building blocks delivered by RSM faculty, 5 elective courses (to be coordinated with the class) taught both by RSM lecturers and Mexican financial experts, and a professional (practical) thesis. Stimulating class discussions will be facilitated in order to address topics such as: Principles of Finance Financial Markets Theory & Portfolio Management Financial Decision Making and Computational Finance Financial Accounting and Analysis Financial Econometrics Corporate Finance Empirical Finance Derivatives Risk Management Fixed Income and Asset Allocation Personal Leadership Development

The offer of electives will be coordinated with the class and will include topics in the area of corporate finance (valuation, mergers & acquisitions, new ventures, financing), as well as investment and financial markets topics (advanced portfolio management, commodities & energy, advanced investment, managing large portfolios, ALM); some topics will be hybrid (behavioral finance, corporate governance, performance evaluation, micro-finance, infrastructure finance, financial markets and institutions in Mexico, financial regulation).

XFM IS A CHALLENGING PROGRAM. It distinguishes itself by using a PRET approach as well as a multi-dimensional view on financial decision-making. APPLICATION
The RSM / IESDE Executive Masters in Financial Management is operated by IESDE under the full academic responsibility of RSM. Standard RSM admission criteria apply. The admissions procedure stresses analytical capacity, communication skills (good command of English), as well as motivation and maturity. No formal education in finance is required; however a high level of quantitative and analytical ability is necessary for entry to the program. XFM participants should preferably have work experience in finance. For the amount of tuition and payment installments please ask a representative of the program at IESDE, Mexico.
