BEAUTY DETECTOR SONY Student Design Workshop, Theme: Care (for Women), Teamwork with Han Xingmou & Lv Wenwei, 2012 (ongoing project)

The theme of 2012 SONY Student Design Workshop is “CARE”and our team pays special attention to the group of women, who need to handle working issues and households as well. Living under great stress, they still have to be perfect and elegant at any time.

Meanwhile, they use dozens of skin care products everyday, but few of them know exactly what kind of products is suitable for their skin under specific climates.

Technology Support And Research

SONY TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT “SSKEP (Smart Skin Evaluation Program)” is a highly accurate, high speed technology for analyzing various elements of the skin, including texture, blemishes, pores, brightness and coloring. “SSKEP” is Sony’s own skin analyzing technology which is comprised of back-illuminated CMOS image sensors and skin-analyzing algorithms. The combination of advanced sensing technologies and high-speed image processing technologies will enable the quantitative and multilateral measuring and analysis of various elements of the skin.

The connection between the necessities after a disaster and LED is of special concern in this design concept. Thus it's natural to think about purified water and lighting, which are essential to maintain lives in the wildness. This concept tries to integrate both of them in one product.
