INTRODUCTION •

My name is Konstantin Atanasov. I came across graphic design when I was thirteen and I found myself absolutely astonished by the way in which you can use computers to create art. With time graphic design felt like the perfect sphere to work in. I was never confident enough to make art that confronts people face to face and I felt that making works that are individual is too limiting. Graphic design can go to the borders of art and yet it is restricted by the main concept. It not only gives me an opportunity to work with people, but it also challenges me to search for new ways of expressing myself whilst taking into consideration my limitations. •

GRAPHIC DESIGN

5

POSTER A quote made into an A2 poster. The typeface presented is hand-drawn.

6

POSTER Typography based on a poem by Stefan Ivanov.

7

POSTER A minimal poster for John Cage’s 4’33”. I decided that the best way to represent silence is by association. The blank sheet music, gradually fading into darkness, is the listener acknowledging the homogeneity of silence.

8

TYPEFACE I decided to use one element. The main purpose was using that specific swirl in every letter without compromising the readability of the type.

9

TYPEFACE A custom cyrillic typeface I illustrated for a school assignment.

10

TYPEFACE I started with a square and tried to keep the simplicity of the form. The typeface is cyrillic.

11

LOGO This logo I created for a contest. Fringe Music Fix was asking for an overall [re]design of their web page. Eventually I won and right now I am responsible for creating their advertisement.

12

LOGO The three logos for my thesis work that I presented to the school board a week ago. I decided to work on the first one. I believe that it represents best the personality of Madame du Barry and the classiness of chocolate.
