Greetings from Chairman
As t he Chain Stores Association of Turkey, this year we are publishing our membership catalogue for the first time. The participation of new members in our esteemed association is a strengthens the modern non-food, non-fashion retail sector. In 2 012 w e launched this initiative with only 19 members and today we reached the number of 75 members. The non-food, non-fashion r etail sector’s t urnover i s 25 billion dollars with 105.000 employees in 2200 stores and our association strives to develop and implement solutions and policies i n favour o f the industry’s welfare and growth. The CSA generates information derived using scientific methods and shares this information with the public and its members. We will continue to do so in the year to come in an elaborate way. Representing the sector worldwide and aiming to help increase the investment potential in Turkey, the CSA is proud to introduce the membership catalogue which raise CSA brand’s awareness and increase its value in both national and international scale. We are proud and pleased to present you with our catalogue, introducing our members and serving to demonstrate how the CSA is evolving into profound association a s a representative o f the non-food and non-fashion retail i n Turkey. About Chain Stores Association (CSA)
Founded in 2012, the Chain Stores Association (CSA), is a representative of the organized retail sector outside the scope of food and apparel, which has reached 25 billion dollars in turnover. • CSA, the public speaker of the organized retail sector outside the scope of food and apparel, thanks to a significant number of members, develops enlightening, directing information and policies by approaching the most current subjects related to the sector. CSA shares the information it acquires, develops opinions on the basis of scientific data with members, the public and the decision makers, regularly. • CSA provides solutions by evaluating the legal problems of the retail sector apart from those of the organized food and garment sectors, within the framework of activities it conducts in coooperation and in line with the shared attitutes and trends of the sector. It submits solutions i t produces t o the ministries and commissions, and attempts to put them into effect. It informs its members of the new or current laws or regulations related to the sector. • Representing the sector worldwide and t herefore aiming t o help increasing the investment potential of Turkey, CSA makes information exchange with important organizations r epresenting the sector s uch as FAPRA ( Federation of Asian-Pacific Retailers Association), NRF (National Retail Federation) Eurocommerce, and EDRA. The association a ttends t he e vents organized b y such o rganizations r egularlly and provide the information and business contacts to the service of the sector. • The C SA contributes t o the process o f updating sectorial information flow, transferring knowledge to the base of the industry and applying them upon request by organizing seminars and workshops regularly. It offers solutions to the employment problem of the sector and cooperates with official authorities in terms of implementation processes. • Aiming t o increase t he share of t he o rganized and m odern retail w ithin the national economy, CSA aims to achieve international standards in this area with activities it carries out with regard to compliance to environment and occupational health and safety standards. • It encourages t he environmentally-friendly, consumer-friendly activities t hat abide by the rights of its members and offers suggestions in terms of adapting to the regulations of international and national associations.
