Mission: OneTable empowers people who don’t yet have a consistent Shabbat dinner practice to build one that feels authentic, sustainable, and valuable. What is Shabbat? According to Jewish law, Shabbat begins just before sundown on Friday night, and spans a restful 25 hours until after sundown on Saturday. While technically Shabbat lasts throughout Saturday, we at OneTable focus exclusively on the beginning: Shabbat dinner. Demographic: Different communities have different needs. The OneTable host and guest community is primarily made up of folks who are in their 20s and 30s. We have tailored our support to work best for those who are over 21, not in college, and do not have children. How it Works: Ending your week with intention with good food and good friends is good for you. The OneTable model invites a healthy cultural shift, a focus on making a commitment, planning ahead, and crafting with care. OneTable helps millennials create meaningful lasting Shabbat dinner practices with: 1-on-1 Coaching, Nourishment Credits, "Nosh:pitality" Workshops (Jewish learning + hospitality training), accessible ritual guides, an iOS app, dinner platform with potluck organizing feature, and more. Is there a "OneTable" way to do Shabbat dinner? All styles of Jewish practice are equally valid and honored, and all are welcome regardless of religion, race, sexual or gender identity.
