Three Team Members Recognized as Difference Makers

What does it take to make an impact at Watco?

We’re thrilled to announce the final Be the Difference winners of 2023: Kyle Moore, Joely Gath-Phelps, and Garrett Ferree. Each award recipient receives $250 for their outstanding efforts.

“These team members represent Watco’s values to a T,” said Watco CEO Dan Smith. “In 2024, let’s remember to continue to do what matters: value our customers and one another while always prioritizing safety.”

One Watco Award - Given to an individual or group of team members whose teamwork generates an exceptional result for a Watco customer.
Kyle Moore, Watco Logistics - Springdale (AR)

Customers and team members can count on Transportation Coordinator Kyle Moore. Most recently, he was there to help a customer fulfill a last-minute delivery request that came in after hours, over a holiday weekend.

Extra Mile Award - Given to an individual or a group of team members who go above and beyond the call of duty at work or in the community.
Joely Gath-Phelps, Revenue and Contracts - Pittsburg (KS)

The team in Pittsburg, Kansas, credits Joely Gath-Phelps for routinely bringing them together. She’s known for regularly organizing food drives and spirit weeks, and even led Watco’s return to Corporate Challenge in 2023.

Safe Performance Award - Given to an individual or group of team members who take action to ensure safety for fellow team members, customers, suppliers, or property.
Garrett Ferree, Crafton Transload Terminal (PA)

Garrett Ferree has only been on the team for a year, but Terminal Manager Nick Marshall already considers him an expert transload operator. To date, Ferree’s maintained a perfect safety record moving commodities from railcar to truck.
