Fryburg Team Member Recognized by Customer for Good Catch/Save

“When you see something, you say something,” said Underwood.

Underwood reported this “S” shaped curve that resulted from weather damage.

Adam Underwood, an Engineer at the Fryburg Rail Terminal in Belfield, North Dakota, was recognized by customer Marathon Petroleum for reporting a critical Good Catch/Good Save. While Underwood was out switching cars on September 9, he observed a section of the track that was “S” shaped. He notified the facility trainmaster right away and repairs were made immediately. By maintaining his situational awareness, Underwood was able to prevent a possible derailment from occurring.

Susan Karpyak, Fryburg Terminal Manager, said, “We’re proud that Fryburg Watco had a team member recognized for his exceptional attention to detail and strong proactive stance on safety. This demonstrates that he truly is his brother’s keeper.”
