TRANSFORMING ABANDONED QUARRIES

DECODING THE DEPTH

2011

Hypothesis:Architectural intervention on the land as its primary resource for operations has led to the sharp rise in the density of thebuilt forms in the core cities. City land resources are exhausted due to immense pressure of development. This has resulted into either creations of more land or sourcing alternative land on the outskirts of the core city. Living away from the cities creates difficult movement pattern and hence people prefer to be closer to the city core.

Under such circumstances, can sourcing land around the city core be a solution...? 2

To Moshi Village

The attempts to build on these pits like an inverted building forms a challenge for upcoming future. Such proposals may widen up the vision and perception to look over such sites and permute various Architectural technology, Environment and landscape possibilities to build over such abandoned land. Thus transforming these urban voids in to the habitable land may stands as a smart solution. Top +51.60m
