Our design journey

Our design journey never ends because design never stops evolving. We continue to create decors with a strong commercial edge as a result of the restless pursuit of what’s happening now and next.

That certainly means eagle-eyed monitoring of forecasts and maintaining dialogues with the industry, to fully understand where markets are moving. But just as importantly, we make our own physical journeys around the world.

We take in expos and seminars on every continent, and talk to designers everywhere about their own inspirations and observations. These on-the-ground collaborations include paper manufacturers as well. To truly understand the design world’s constant shifts, you must take input from far and wide. That’s what underpins a collection like City Vibes. Simply taking the name of Moscow, Barcelona, Milan or Warsaw is not enough; the true spirit of a city, its culture and people must also be explored.

So wherever it takes us, our journey has the surprises, twists and turns that echo the nature of global design itself. The key is then to listen to our customers and design partners to hone in on the exact looks they know will work in their markets. The inspiration may be wide and diverse, but the resulting selections are always highly focused on maximum commercial potential. Kronodesign® Trends 20/21 reflects the transformational power of great design and the sometimes haphazard evolution of urban environments, as evidenced in four distinctive cities – Barcelona, Milan, Moscow and Warsaw.

The distinctive dynamic of each city informs each decor vibe – in color, texture and intensity. These inspirations come from streets, spaces, architecture and people. They come from the new, the old, the cultural diversity, the contrasts and contradictions, and the realities and myths of each location.

A city’s vibe is a complex essence – that’s why it’s so rewarding to explore, so attractive to numerous people, and such rich source of inspiration for designers.
