Dementia friendly Lancaster to Host teepa Snow

Teepa Snow, one of the world’s leading advocates and educators for anyone living with dementia or other forms of brain change, will present two seminars on Thursday, Aug. 17, at Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster. The event, open to the community, is hosted by Lancaster Dementia Friendly Community.

MORNING SESSION – 8-11:30 a.m.

This session is designed for care partners such as first responders, businesses, organizations, churches, and families. In this session, participants will learn the following:

• How to discern signs of dementia in everyday settings

• How to best approach and engage the person with dementia

• How to provide appropriate stimulation and safe, comfortable spaces

AFTERNOON SESSION – 12:30-4 p.m.

This seminar is designed specifically for healthcare and senior care workers. In this session, participants will learn the following:

• How to better assess and address dementia types, compared to depression and delirium

• How to provide better care and environments in clinical and residential settings

• How to recognize and respond to pain and other conditions www.thenalc.org
