Hope Clinic of McKinney

ope Clinic of McKinney saw its first patient in 2017, fulfilling a plan that began in 2014 with recognizing the unmet need for quality care for the uninsured in the community. Twelve percent of McKinney residents are without medical insurance. The need is even higher in East Mckinney, where Hope Clinic is located. In June 2016, a team of volunteers and partners formed to bring a mission of Hope and Healing in McKinney to life.

After spending two years operating out of the Baptist Immigration Center, Hope Clinic moved to its permanent location on East Lamar in 2019. The new clinic allows increased operating hours and the ability to serve more patients. Looking ahead to the future, Hope Clinic is aiming to expand operations to accommodate patients five days a week. In 2022, 100 volunteers from all across the community have worked together over the course of 6,000 hours to serve more than 600 uninsured patients who otherwise would have gone without care or gone to an emergency room for basic medical care. The clinic added more than 20 new medical providers, scribes, and techs, hired a new part-time nurse practitioner and a full-time medical assistant and shifted to two executive directors co-leading the clinic. Hope Clinic also earned, for the third year in a row, the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Standards Gold Designation, the highest level for free clinics nationwide, and was granted the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency.
