The HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival returns for its 8th season with a sensational line up of jazz greats from around the world. The two-week event features eight main-stage performances at six different venues and the annual Downtown Tucson Fiesta, an event that is free to the public on MLK Day. Always seeking exciting ways to broaden awareness and inspire a love of jazz to more audiences, this year’s Festival includes fabulous new experiences like a pre-show event “Arpeggio,” where jazz lovers will enjoy an evening of music, food and drinks on the three levels of The Citizen Hotel, the TJF Jazz Jam at Hotel Congress, and An Afternoon of Jazz on the Hotel Congress Plaza. Headliner Jon Batiste sets the bar high for this year’s talent. The bandleader of The Late Show with Steven Colbert, Batiste is one of the hottest tickets in the US today. A “not to be missed artist,” his recent Austin City Limits performance was said to be one of the most amazing shows ever seen on that stage.
