It’s no secret that European beauty starts with glowing skin, and guess what? The key ingredients to achieving this are items you most likely already have stored in your kitchen cabinet.

Used not only to compliment a cup of tea, honey, surprisingly, is also used in many European skincare practices to help protect and nourish the skin. Studies have shown a magnitude of benefits when using honey, such as microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. These and other properties have been known to help with anti-aging, wound healing, skin cancer treatment, and benefiting autoimmune skin conditions such as Psoriasis and Eczema.

Using honey in skincare can be done in many different ways. Some like to mix other ingredients with it, while others use it by itself on the skin. The healthy bacteria found within honey can help with acne, scarring, moisturizing, brightening, anti-aging, and more. However, pairing honey with other ingredients can help personalize and target issues within your skin.

Turmeric is also an ingredient that can be beneficial for your skin, specifically targeting acne. The properties found in turmeric help reduce inflammation and skin irritation. Mixing these two in one mask will allow your skin to fight severe acne scarring while also hydrating and brightening your face. This easy two-ingredient face mask is something that can be made quickly and transformed into your at-home glow kit.
