After her family and friends were struggling with skin irritations and allergies, Melbourne mother Glenyce used her in-depth knowledge of natural medicine to create an organic range of home made remedies to treat even the most sensitive skin. Glenyce saw the positive results her formulations were having on family and friends and enlisted the help of her son Adam to create Kelapa Organics. Pure, simple and natural, the range is created using certified organic coconut oil, aloe vera, rosehip oil, rose water and lots of other natural goodies for your skin to enjoy. Kelapa Organics, is proudly: • Australian Made and Owned • Australian Certified Organic • Vegan and Vegetarian Friendly • Not Tested on Animals • Paraben Free • Synthetic Fragrance Free • Free of Artificial Preservatives • Free of Artificial Colours

You must have been hiding under a rock if you missed the ‘superfood’ obsession! Celebs, nutritionists and health enthusiasts alike couldn’t stop talking about these nutrientrich foods that provide all the good stuff our bodies need to look good and feel great. So that’s the insides looked after, but what about our skin? With 2016 well underway, it is time to introduce you to the latest health obsession for beautiful looking, healthy skin – Kelapa Organics. With the demand for fresh organic produce comes the demand for products containing organic ingredients produced by Mother Nature herself. So it is no wonder Kelapa Organics, is gaining a strong following as consumers realise the importance of naturally produced products, as opposed to those that contain harsh chemicals and artificial ingredients.

FUN FACT ‘Kelapa’

means coconut in Malay and Indonesian.

Did you know that over 1 million Aussies currently suffer from scalp conditions such as seborehoeic dermatitis and psoriasis and over 50% of the population suffer from dandruff during their lifetime! The Australian hair-care market is saturated with chemical-based products positioned as a ‘solution’ to scalp conditions. Such medicated shampoos are not suitable for daily use due to the harshness of ingredients like zinc pyrithione and tar, which will leave your hair feeling dry and damaged. Finally there is a product that actually aids in preventing such conditions without the use of harsh chemicals. Kelapa Organics is proudly Australian made and owned and boasts a range of shampoos and conditioners for normal and dry hair as well as an intensive conditioning treatment. Kelapa Organics uses only the gentlest ingredients available, including the ever popular certified organic coconut oil. Kelapa proudly boasts a range of affordable hair care options that do not contain sodium lauryl sulphate, synthetic fragrances, artificial preservatives, colours or parabens. The Kelapa Organics range is as natural as possible, promoting the fact that nature has provided us with a wealth of gentle and nourishing oils – meaning you can have a clear scalp and beautifully nourished hair simply by using one locally produced product. Kelapa Organics is available at leading Australian salons and spas and online at www.kelapa.com.au

OnTrend Bridal asked Brodie-Lee from Cloud Nine Rokstar Salon Brisbane what’s trending in the world of bridal hair...

HAIR TRENDS

Soft loose waves... think Victoria’s Secret... are stealing the show at the moment. Up-do’s are seeing gorgeous big braids with beautiful oversized buns return to the forefront of bridal styling.

HAIR ACCESSORIES

‘Less is More’... soft and delicate... crystal brooches and pearls.

Is the traditional look still popular or are you seeing brides try unconventional styles and/or colours for the big day? Traditional will never go out of fashion, however it’s always nice to see brides trying new looks. What should brides consider when deciding on a hairstyle for their wedding (up or down)? Weather!!!! As it is so uncontrollable, it’s always important to have a back-up plan for your big day. Choose a style that will work for each situation so you’re prepared. Are there any secrets to prep your hair a week before the wedding and what about the night before? Use a professional prescribed shampoo that will enhance the shine and give your hair a mirror/glass finish. Your hair will be beaming under the lights and glowing throughout the evening. What are a few simple tips/tricks to make your hairstyle stay the distance? Talk to your hair stylist about what is required to keep your hair in tact. A mini hairspray and a few pins are always a good idea to carry in a clutch. Is it common for brides to change their hair after the ceremony for the reception and what would be the best way to go about this? The best way would be to ask your hair stylist about a ‘call back fee’ to come to you after the ceremony and photos and create a new style for the celebrations. What products would help brides create simple, flawless looks at home for the engagement, bridal shower and other pre-wedding events... and of course the honeymoon? The Cloud Nine wands are a must!!! They make it so easy to create gorgeous waves and easy up-do’s. I always recommend a heat protection spray, shine spray and texture spray along with a humidity resistant hairspray to make life easier. See the range of Cloud Nine styling products @ http://au.cloudninehair.com/

NATURAL SKINCARE TIPS FOR THE GLOWING, BLEMISH-FREE BRIDE Every bride wants to look wedding day perfect, from shiny hair and strong nails, to blemish-free skin. While blemishes and mild acne may not be in a bride-to-be’s plans, the common skin condition is an all-too-real concern for many, as planning pressures and poor diet habits often escalate in the lead up to the big day. In Australia, blemishes and mild acne affect 35 percent of women. A holistic beauty routine that considers the skin from the inside and out is a bridal beauty essential in order to keep pimples at bay and get that big day glow. But where to start? Naturopath Shelley Atkin advises giving some thought to skin health and stress levels at least three months prior to walking down the aisle. “Our skin is a reflection of our inner health and emotions, both of which can experience changes when planning a wedding. However, there are some small changes that can make a big difference, to have you smiling down the aisle focused only on your partner”.

TOP 5 BRIDAL SKINCARE TIPS 1. Keep it Natural Choose a skincare regime with natural and nourishing ingredients to cleanse, treat and repair. Look for chemical-free formulas to treat blemish-prone skin. “Internal supplements should contain natural ingredients to support the skin by helping to foster healthy hormone balance, such as the liver herb Burdock and vitamins B6 and A, which are important in maintaining overall skin health,” Atkin says. 2. Hydrate the Skin A bride needs well-hydrated, supple skin for make-up to look its best. If you have dry skin, ensure regular water intake, use skincare and choose supplements that support skin hydration and nutrition. Look for a cleanser that gently clarifies, rebalances and tones without drying. Choose a moisturiser and spot gel that’s non-greasy and formulated with naturally-derived, soothing ingredients such as aloe vera and cucumber. 3. Avoid Stress and Planning Overload Staying away from stressful moments may be easier said than done, but being aware of what situations push your buttons and choosing to avoid or navigate them differently can help to calm frayed nerves and minimise the effects on your skin. If oily skin is an issue, it’s important to avoid stress, as this prompts the body to produce more androgen hormones, which leads to increased oil production. Choose an exercise, such as yoga, to balance stress hormones that will have your skin flushed and glowing. 4. Prevent Blemishes from the Inside and Out Choose a day or more each week to fuel up with organic greens including a nutrientdense smoothie to enhance skin clarity. For best results, begin an inside and out beauty regimen, with the Qsilica Naturally CLEAR Skin Blemish Control Kit. Containing strengthening and rejuvenating colloidal silica and natural cleansing herbals, its three-step process minimises the risk of blemishes and spots. 5. Continue with Healthy Habits, Post Wedding No need to look back at your wedding photos wistfully as a time of beauty perfection. When continuing these skin tips beyond the big day, skin, hair and nails can stay shiny, healthy and beautiful. How Qsilica Naturally CLEAR Blemish Control Kit Works, from the Inside and Out 1. Cleanse - Internally detoxifies, cleanses and purifies the blood. Externally removes dirt and dead skin cells; 2. Treat - Internally supports normal hormone function through androgen regulation, while antioxidants assist the body’s natural free radical defences. Externally kills pimple-causing bacteria at the site; 3. Repair - Internally promotes skin healing through cellular support and repair. Externally calms skin and reduces redness through anti-inflammatory properties.

BRISBANE JEWELLER AWARDED BEST ENGAGEMENT RING DESIGN IN AUSTRALIA

As Beyoncé declares, “If you like it then you should have put a ring on it” and that’s exactly what a Brisbane jeweller has done, scooping top honours in best engagement ring design in Australia. The winning announcement and presentation of the award was made to Xennox Diamonds at the Showcase Jewellers Gala Awards Dinner in Sydney on 28 August 2015. The 12 designers from 30 national stockists entered in the PASSION8 Design Award category at the biennial Showcase Jewellers Design Awards 2015, remained a mystery to the judging panel who had the unenviable task of selecting the winning piece through a ‘blind’ judging process. Pieces were judged on creativity, marketability, strength and durability, custom design, craftsmanship, quality and finish, styling, uniqueness and practicality; were required to feature a Passion8 *hearts and arrows diamond with a RRP under $10,000. “The idea behind our winning design was to capture the essence of timeless elegance with wearability,” said Xennox Diamonds Managing Director and Head Designer Karl Schwantes. “Why I’m particularly proud of winning this award, which set a maximum value of $10,000, is that it proves you don’t need a million dollar budget to create the ultimate engagement ring that will last the test of time. This philosophy is emulated in every piece that Xennox Diamonds creates, that way our clients can continue to love their ring as much today as they will in 50 years,” added Mr. Schwantes. Mr Schwantes (aka ‘dream ring designer’) is a designer, gemmologist, diamond grader, valuer and published author and has worked in the jewellery industry for nearly 20 years. He is passionate about his commitment to his customers and in doing so has comprised a 5-step method that is designed to assist any love-struck gentleman on his quest to find the perfect ring to ‘pop the question’. As reward for Xennox Diamond’s hard work in creating this stunning Passion8 piece, Valentino, design name, will be included as a limited edition article in the Passion8 range of the Hearts & Arrows Diamond jewellery portfolio to be promoted internationally as Passion8’s first featured designer.

Your Wedding Day - immortalised by photos - is one of the biggest events of your life.. and the beginning of your marriage. Starting with your Wedding Day itself, here are my Top 7 Ways that I use Yoga to help Brides-to-Be. On the Day... 1. Stand tall! On your wedding day, you want great posture. All the practice of the past few weeks is on show today. The crown of your head lifting towards the sky lengthens your neck, lengthens your spine. This Yoga technique is called ‘seeking’... as if the top of your head was seeking to touch the ceiling, drawing the rest of your spine up with it. 2. Stretch your ‘Space’! Before you shower and put on your dress, stretch your arms up high. Swing them around (carefully) like a windmill to work your shoulders. Feet apart, bend your legs and let your arms swing around your body in a twist with momentum. Legs bent, flop your body down into a forward bend and let the blood go to your head. Breathe upside-down. Stand up and do a couple of side bends, lengthening down the side of your body. Unless I have written you a specific Yoga routine to do on the day, these couple of simple moves will ‘expand your space’ and help you feel calmer. With stress, the body wants to shrink. ‘Stretch your personal space’ before nerves hit... even good nerves! 3. Breathe! Any breathing is good, but the breath ‘down low into the belly’ is the breath that calms your nerves. All the practice in the weeks leading up to your wedding pays off today. If you haven’t practiced yet, when you get a private moment - getting prepped, in your limousine, between photos - breathe and expand the part of your belly below the navel. There is a reason that women in beautiful corseted gowns used to fan themselves and faint - they couldn’t take a full diaphragmatic breath! A few breaths in this style on the day will keep you feeling energised, alleviate nerves, and can help ward off tension headaches and exhaustion.

4. Plank It! Especially if your arms and shoulders are on show, Yoga Plank brings tone to this area as well as your core. Yoga Plank and Downward Dog combo will bring bloodflow to your arms. This will make you look more toned - and build on whatever tone you already have been building leading up to this day. If your wrists don’t like to bear weight, make sure you check with me for the forearm versions of these. Half Dog Pose for beginners, handstands for more advanced Brides... they are all variations on a theme. The variations offer the same benefits, but I modify them for your body, age and needs to ensure all the Yoga you will get through me is achievable and stress-free. 5. Do Yoga for your FACE! My Face Yoga helps prepare and relax muscles around the eyes and mouth. This is similar to the ‘Expand your Space’ technique for your whole body - but specifically for your Face. Just like the rest of you, there are facial muscles which tighten under stress and they want to contract and shrink you in. Relaxing and stretching them sends a signal to your brain that there is no real stress. Consequently, your brain releases relaxation hormones instead of stress hormones. It really works. Do these 15 minutes before you put your makeup on, or 30 minutes if your skin is sensitive. Each of the points below starts from a ‘neutral’ face. l With a tall spine, open your mouth wide in a ‘silent scream’. l Stick your tongue out and down, stretching it as much as possible. l Purse your lips and scrunch your face as much as you can. l Raise your eyebrows and roll your eyes around (both directions) slowly. l Breathe. Massage your face with your fingertips, moving the flesh over the bones of your cheeks, your mouth, eyebrows and forehead. l Smile wide, wider. Stay in a wide smile and push the corners of your mouth into your cheeks and up towards your ears. Use your hands to hold your big smile for a couple of breaths. 6. Connect! Of course your Wedding will be about some Big Moments of connection. Put more heart into your day, by practicing how to ‘BE’. Use Yoga skills to help you stay centered and connected - Mind and Body. Bring in your practice of grounding, centering, breathing. When you are grounded, and breathing consciously [yoga breath], you will be calmer, more serene, more relaxed - and happier. Staying connected to your heart means that your head can’t steal you away into worrying thoughts. Trust that everything is prepared, and lean back on your helpers. Your job is simply to ‘BE’, not to ‘DO’ on this day. Seek to connect to the feeling of your own breath in your body. In Yoga, we might call this ‘connecting to your Heart’. Then seek to greet every guest from that connected space. Your guests, your family, your catering... everyone who sees you on the day, will feel your presence when you connect in this way. A connected bride is a bride who is brimming with something tangible. She touches everyone... including her groom!

7. Take a Moment! This is it. On this day, as you transition from single to married, take a moment for yourself. Give yourself a symbolic hug - savour the farewell to the former you and welcome the phase to come... symbolised by your Wedding. Speak to yourself out loud and state your intention to marry. Allow the tears to come up, tears of joy, tears of transition. Breathe, take a moment. There is no rush. Yoga teaches us to love the cycles of our life, and our emotions. Imagine your mind’s eye is taking a photo of you in this moment. Keep it as a precious and very personal souvenir of your inner self. In a few days, on your honeymoon, or next time you have a quiet moment of relaxation or meditation, go back to that ‘snapshot’ of yourself. Let your married self share her joys and highlights of the wedding with that bride who paused for a moment... Congratulations!

Two persons who unite their lives to help each other toward divine realisation are founding their marriage on the right basis: unconditional friendship. Woman is motivated primarily by feeling, and man by reason; marriage is meant to balance these qualities.

A touch of flair... All cakes by Sweetums

2 Vas from Frosted Indulgence shares the inspiration behind some of her recent edible works of art...

1

This cake was inspired by beautiful wedding invitations which had a gorgeous lace design and silver foil details. The monogram design also matched the invite and was placed onto the cake using Swarovski crystals. The sugar flowers and their colouring matched the many fresh flowers throughout the reception.

2

Inspiration for this cake was taken from the dusty pink colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses and the lace detail on them. The silhouette toppers are a special touch which the bride carried through to her wedding cake from her engagement cake, seamlessly tying both events together.

3

Both the bride and groom knew that they wanted to add a splash of their quirky personalities to their cake. The cat toppers did this so well and were the talking point for all their guests. The rest of the cake was kept quite simple with a quilting and a gold hand-painted chevron design.

4

5

4

This grand design was one my bride had her heart set on from the minute we had our first consultation. The colours she chose were ivory with gold accents. The monogram gold handpainted details were taken straight from the wedding invitation and the ruffle ball on top finished off the cake perfectly.

5

My client wanted a simple yet stunning cake which we achieved by choosing a simple cake design and adding Swarovski crystal trims and monograms to give it that wow factor.

6

The lace detail on this cake matched the lace on the bride’s dress. A touch of colour was added by dusting the edges and centre of the rose with a lovely pink that matched the bridesmaids’ dresses.

25 July 2015

I am a historical costumer and my favourite period is Georgian (1700s), so I wanted my dress to be from that era. Evan doesn’t costume, so I had to make sure I balanced his casual suit with my flair. I went with a 1790s Georgian Redingote. Very classically cut with few trimmings. The dress was made from a light grey, ivory and beige striped dupion silk and the under skirt was made from an ivory coloured silk chiffon. I also made all the undergarments which included a Georgian corset, bumpad and cotton petticoat. I wore American Duchess shoes and the only jewellery was a hair comb, pearl earrings, a pearl bracelet and my baptismal cross. My bridesmaids wore 1950s vintage style dresses that were made from dupion silk. The men went for a casual look and feel, so they all wore charcoal grey suits with no ties, bells or whistles. KERRY-ANN

On 25 July 2015, I married Evan, my partner of 13 years. The wedding was held at the Greek Orthodox Church of St George in South Brisbane. I was given away by my brother, Jason. After our ceremony we went to the City Botanical Gardens for our photos. The reception was at The Ship Inn at South Bank. Both of my sisters were bridesmaids. My older sister, Donna, was the Matron of Honour and my younger sister, Susan, was the second bridesmaid. Evan had 2 groomsmen, the best man was his good friend Emmanuel, and his older brother, George, was the second groomsman. We had a silver/grey theme for the wedding. My hair and my bridesmaids’ hair was styled by Elly Cramer, who works at PURPLE DAZE HAIR STUDIO in Paddington. Our make-up artist was Melissa Stevens. We made the flowers ourselves with the help of a good friend. Our wedding cake was made by The Cheescake Shop at Albany Creek. Photos courtesy Kate Wilson Photography.

“Lisa MacDonald from PURPLE DAZE HAIR STUDIO in Brisbane was our hair stylist. She made the day extra fun. Lisa was with us from very early in the morning and was also a guest at our wedding, as her partner was one of our groomsmen.” Mikaela & Shane

Clay and Prue Say “I Do”

Clay and I met at a University of Queensland hockey club end-of-season event, both being hockey players. I spent the next month showing up at finals games, hoping he would be there. On grand final day, I took a shot and asked him out. He said ‘yes’ and we shared our first kiss in the grandstand at the State Hockey Centre! Clay took me to dinner at Alchemy Restaurant and then for a ‘walk’, where he proposed in the Fig Tree Grove of the City Botanic Gardens... the same spot as we had our first date picnic, a little over five years earlier. He had made a slideshow of our memories together, so I was already in tears before he even got down on one knee and pulled out the sparkling custom-designed engagement ring!

Our photographer loved the idea of setting up a ‘first look’ in the spot where we had our first date (and where Clay proposed). Sarah captured the most amazing photos for us.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Warner 18 April 2015 @ Riverlife, Kangaroo Point photography by Sarah Streets Studios

I knew I wanted to wear cream (even ivory was too white for me) and I had Jeanette McCullough design and make a sleeveless, figure-hugging mermaid-style dress in gorgeous French lace over antique-cream silk satin. We finished it off with a beautiful handmade pearl and crystal belt from etsy. Jeanette made a discrete, delicate veil from the same French lace as my dress. I wore roses in creams and baby pink in my hair, provided by our amazing florist, Anna from Petal Peddlers.

Lilac was not an easy colour to find ready-made bridesmaid dresses, so I measured each of the girls up, picked a style and ordered online. (My tip: Choose an online store which sends you fabric swatches so you can see the colours yourself.) Anna from Petal Peddlers made these beautiful quarter-halos for the girls’ hair in all shades of lilac. They really stood out on the day and in the photos! We have a life-long relationship with Risc Hair & Beauty, so they were a ‘no-brainer’ for our wedding hair and makeup. Anna from Petal Peddlers did an amazing job with the flowers. I wanted a natural, unstructured look to suit the country garden theme, in lilacs and peaches. Everything was abundant and beautiful – bouquets, flowers for our hair, boutonnieres and beautiful overflowing jar arrangements for the tables. When the flowers arrived on the wedding morning, they took my breath away.

Our wedding day dawned with a sun-splitting sky. I remember walking into mum and dad’s house early that morning and yelling...

“I ’m getting married today! ” Clayton had left a gift of wedding-day perfume with my sister and a card that read: “This is our day and we are going to soak it up!” I cried when I read it. But his simple message really summed up our whole day... we didn’t let anything stress or upset us and we made it ‘our day’ We wanted to have a special moment ‘just for us’ so we planned a ‘first look’ before the ceremony in the the same spot as our first date and the proposal. When Clay took off his blindfold, I watched a complete change of expression go across his face. I could see he was thinking “Wow! That’s my girl.”

We had a heartfelt civil ceremony in the parklands at Riverlife, Kangaroo Point. It was an unseasonably hot day for April (around 30 degrees) and because of a booking confusion with the limos, we (the girls) ended up being half an hour late. I think our guests were very grateful for the parasols, water station and sunscreen! I walked down the aisle to the Beatles ‘In my Life’, played on acoustic guitar and performed by our very talented friends, Lanah and Adam. We were drenched in sunlight as we stood in front of the wisteria-draped arch that dad and my brother had constructed. We had a mix of traditional vows and personalised ones, including our promise to walk beside each other in a life lived in awe of the every day. It was the biggest high walking back down the aisle and being covered with petals by our guests.

The reception was held in the sunset marquee at Riverlife which was decked out in lilac lanterns and decorated with burlap and lace. The tables were overflowing with relaxed posies of country blooms in lilac and peach. No one held back in their speeches, they were hilarious! We entertained our guests with a trivia quiz about us – including our funniest moments, and a 4-piece band got the party started. Everyone (including Clayton!) was surprised by a vintage gelato van serving overflowing cones of delicious gelato for dessert! I kept it as a surprise from everyone (only my mum knew). Everyone lined up for more! We had BYO drinks, which gave us the opportunity to choose what we knew our guests would love while staying within our budget. Sarah set up a photobooth in front of a jacaranda canvas backdrop painted by mum. Everyone had a great time with the props. Mum booked us into our wedding night suite at Stamford Plaza and it was so lovely. At the end of the night I was just so happy to go to a lovely hotel with my new husband!

Glengariff Historic Estate ALDA MONTEIRO & OSCAR NINASIVINCHE were married on 25 January 2013 at Our Lady Of Victories Church. “We chose this gorgeous church because of its architecture which reminded us both of churches we love in Peru and Portugal. It tied in with our ‘classic, old world’ theme perfectly and captured our cultural backgrounds. I wore a gown by Mori Lee New York from WHITE LILY COUTURE and hair styling and makeup was by THE POWDER ROOM. Our reception was held at GLENGARIFF HISTORIC ESTATE. This gorgeous family estate perfectly suited our classically romantic wedding theme. The wonderful Channing took such care of us and our guests and made sure our day ran smoothly! We didn’t have to worry about a thing which allowed us to really sit back and enjoy every second with our family and friends. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful - they really went above and beyond to ensure we had a beautiful day. We love this venue and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts!” Photos courtesy Milque Photography & Films.

The Greek Club ELENI PIPPOS & NATHAN KOZIONAS were married on 14 June 2014. The ceremony was held at the Greek Orthodox Church of St George at West End and the reception was at THE GREEK CLUB. “Mrs Caterina Antonini, a very close family friend, made my wedding dress as well as my mother’s and Anna’s dresses. Special thanks to this very special lady who, at 70 years old, created a hand beaded and sewn piece of art - my wedding dress. I love the look of an outdoor wedding with hanging flowers and a fairy-light canopy and worked with Styled Events to recreate the look indoors... ‘rustic with a touch of glitter and sparkle’. The cars were from Kenz Classic (bridal car) and LIMOSO AUSTRALIA. Our wedding favours were little jars of olive oil with a sprig of rosemary from my grandmother’s garden. Our hobby is eating and we also love cooking together and thought it reflected us both as well as being a practical gift for our guests! Our first dance was to ‘All of Me’ by John Legend. We chose PORFYRI PHOTOGRAPHY to capture our wedding day.”

The Landing at Dockside

MELISSA PERRY & JEREMY PHILPOTT were married on 29 March 2014. They had a beautiful riverside ceremony followed by a reception at The Landing at Dockside, Kangaroo Point. at Our Lady Of Victories Church. “We chose an aqua and white colour theme as aqua is my (Melissa’s) favourite colour and it perfectly suited the waterfront setting. I made the bonbonniere myself... coconut and lime soy candles. Our first dance was to ‘Beautiful in My Eyes’ by Joshua Kadison... the words couldn’t be more perfect! The girls were all dressed by Princess Collections Adelaide and the boys by Roger David. Our gorgeous flowers were created by Agnes from ANGIE’S FLORAL DESIGN... I just love her work!” Photos by Shona Henderson Photography.

Flaxton Gardens did such an amazing job, from start to finish. Georgina, Alan and the team were so professional and helpful, offering advice and being very flexible. Their venue is so stunning and we are looking forward to returning to celebrate many anniversaries. We couldn’t speak highly enough of Flaxton Gardens.

Highlights

Rachael: “There was absolutely nothing I could complain about, every service I used did their job so perfectly. It was just so special that everyone had such a lovely time. The biggest highlights would be marrying Chris, dancing with my father, and capturing amazing photos with my photographer and bridal party.” Chris: “Using my remote-controlled truck to transport the rings down the aisle!” RACHAEL & CHRIS’ WEDDING IS FEATURED IN THE 2015 EDITION OF BRISBANE BRIDE MAGAZINE.

“ Highlights Nicole: “The highlight of the day for me was the unveiling of the dance floor and the dancing. Now, the rain had made my dress a bit of a mess and my satin shoes had gotten a little soggy, so I changed into another dress I had brought. This made our first dance so much easier. Nathaniel and I couldn’t take our eyes off each other. The fog from the dry ice smoke machine made the moment feel magical! The song we picked was quite dramatic and beautiful.”

Our ceremony was held at Maleny Botanic Gardens and the reception was at VUE DE LUMIERES. We had a lot of really great vendors who helped us out along the way. The person we liaised with the most, and who helped us organise the largest number of things was Kerry Cosgrove of Vue de Lumieres. Even though our ceremony was at a different location, Kerry still wanted to check that things were going to go smoothly over there and organised a marquee for us at the ceremony site as a wet weather option. Photos courtesy Helen McConnell Photography.

Nathaniel: “After the ceremony it started to rain so we were trapped under the marquee. However, after the rain had passed, there was a rainbow which made for some beautiful shots and made me feel incredibly lucky!”
