Chris Glancy and Ian Shaw are a facebook love story success. “We met on a facebook app in 2007 and haven’t looked back.” Ian surprised Chris with a weekend away in a luxury hotel on the Gold Coast on their third anniversary. He secretly organised a couple of days away from the office for Chris, packed and hid an overnight bag in the boot and drove on what Chris thought was a short day trip together. Ian even organised for their fur-children to be collected after they left the house and looked after for a few nights without Chris knowing. Just before leaving the hotel suite for dinner, Ian produced a pair of interlocking jigsaw puzzle necklaces for them to wear instead of traditional engagement rings. “Although Chris’ first reaction was, ‘Are you serious?, it quickly became a resounding ‘Yes’, followed by many, many tears of joy. Our engagement in 2010 was quickly followed by an incredible engagement party with family and friends while we patiently awaited Marriage Equality. Good things come to those who wait!”

“Planning a wedding during a global pandemic was certainly not without stress! We married at the stunning High Church in Fortitude Valley. Our wedding theme was Modern Romantic Luxe. We’d discussed a long table wedding beneath the stars on a vineyard in the Hunter Valley, but we also loved the hustle of modern city life. When we discovered the amazing Moreton Bay Figs by Autumn Grove, we quickly realised that we could have the best of both worlds. One of our favourite Brisbane restaurants, Rogue, had an incredible event space next door at The Refinery, which was a blank space where we achieved the Hunter Valley vibes we craved. We found and engaged suppliers that paired with the Refinery’s fit out, softening the room, introducing romance and luxury, whilst retaining a masculine and modern edge.” “After 13 years together, to finally, legally be married was always going to be our highlight! However, there wasn’t a single moment that was a highlight. The day was a series of highlights. From chilling with our crew in the morning, to seeing each other’s beaming smile at the ceremony; our friends and families support, laughter and tears. Our puppies involvement as ring bearers and our beautiful diamond wedding rings; our live painter at the reception, our first dance, incredibly heartfelt speeches, the most delicious wedding food you could imagine, and the insanely intimate reception space that we created with artificial Moreton Bay Fig trees and theming. After the reception, we were whisked away to our hotel where we continued the celebration with our guests over espresso martini’s - not wanting the best day of our lives to end!” “Our day was a very long time coming. We were fortunate with what we were able to achieve, which realised all of our hopes and dreams - we wouldn’t change or add a thing. We’re so thankful that magazines such as Brisbane Weddings Magazine (so inclusive!) and Same Same Weddings Magazine exist. They are incredible resources for everyone, but especially same sex couples. It can be intimidating reaching out to suppliers unsure what response you may receive when planning a same sex wedding. Having access to a directory of ‘friendly’ suppliers, in addition to the experiences of others who have married and pathed the way before you, is invaluable. Thank you.”

“Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is that ultimately it is your day. Make it about you and what you want and not what everyone else thinks your day should look like. We also recommend spending time thinking about your guests’ experience on the day. We’ve had nothing but wonderful feedback from all of our guests about how special they felt being part of our day.” “With international and even interstate travel not possible, we honeymooned within Queensland on Hamilton Island. It was perfect! We enjoyed a combination of downtime together with planned activities ranging from romantic couples massages, a private helicopter tour to the outer reef, ATV adventure and jet skiing. Incredible food, cocktails, sunsets and meeting new friends was the perfect start to married life.”

Rachel Irons met Natasha Drake through work. “Whilst it was only briefly, we struck up a good friendship before going our separate ways to continue our careers. Around a year later, life events would have us cross paths again and allow us to build on the friendship we already had and in turn develop into something much more and the love we share today.” “We spent the night in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for our anniversary.” Tash got down on one knee in front of the fireplace and proposed. Rachel cried and said ‘Yes, yes, yes!’ Tash left the room briefly to turn up the lights and upon returning Rachel greeted her with a ring. She was shocked, thrilled and excited and of course said ‘Yes’ in return.

Lauren Cunnew and Laura Meachem met at work. “As we work in different departments, we hadn’t had much interaction before the annual Employee of the Year Ball 2014. At the ball, myself and a friend were drunkenly playing ‘Who would you rather?’ and after running out of most people’s names, my friend asked, ‘Out of any lesbian at Crown, who would you rather?’. I hadn’t been working there long and only knew of two - one was my supervisor and the other was Laura. After hearing her name and the word lesbian, Laura came over from where she was standing and the rest is history.” “I had known about the ring for almost a year before Laura proposed – thanks to Laura’s dad spilling the beans on loudspeaker one afternoon! This proved to be an expensive error as I made sure my nails were always looking their best, just in case. We went to Singapore for a holiday in March 2017 and I probably should have seen it coming as Laura was acting suspicious during the whole trip and would not let me touch her suitcase! One evening after speed walking through Gardens by the Bay, we were talking about what to have for dinner (a common question in our household). I became distracted by a stray cat and all I heard Laura say was ‘?’. I responded with ‘Huh?’ and as I turned around thinking it was food related, I saw her on one knee asking if I would marry her. The next words out of my mouth began with an ‘F’ and ended with ‘off’, followed by me jumping up and down, crying and yelling ‘Really?’ until she realised the ring was still in her pocket! After the proposal, we decided food was in order to celebrate and chose a nice French Bistro. Laura, now calm and with a full appetite, ordered a three-course meal. I, on the other hand, was still distracted by the giant rock on my left finger and ‘panic ordered’ a burger! Although it wasn’t the Hollywood movie proposal you dream about, it was raw and full of love and that’s what made it perfect.”

“Our theme was very understated and elegant. After seeing the venue, we decided to bring the outdoors in and used greens, whites, and blues. We wanted to create lasting memories beyond photographs so we had Glasshouse candles to scent our wedding. When our guests lit their candles at home, they would be reminded of our wedding. Every moment was a highlight – from sitting on the floor pre-ceremony giggling the nerves away with the girls to walking down the aisle towards the person who still gives me butterflies, to feeling the warmth and love of every single person in the room knowing they would do anything for us. Rock climbing barefoot in a wedding dress to get the perfect photo, eating fish and chips on the beach with our best friends, showering ourselves in champagne, the amazing food and our first dance were all highlights, but our favourite moment was when we were standing outside watching through the window as all our friends and family were dancing the night away. The whole day was simply perfect.”

“Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is that everyone will have an opinion about what you should and shouldn’t do. Although some of it might be great advice, or give you an idea you never considered, you just need to remember that it is your day and no matter what you decide to do, they will love it because they love you both. Do your research but not too much! It is so easy to fall down the rabbit hole of wedding vendors or trying to find a vendor that does a similar service for a better price. If you find someone and you love them and what they do, then follow your gut. Also, try to remember to take a few minutes during the reception, just the two of you, to take it all in. The day will go by faster than you can say ‘I do’ and just taking that moment to look at all your favourite people in one room, is a special feeling that you don’t want to miss. We want to say thank you to every vendor for making our dream wedding a reality, especially the staff at The Pavilion, Mindarie who made every guest feel welcome, accommodated every request and made our day so calm and relaxing. Also, a huge shout out to Amie Harvey, our wedding coordinator at The Pavilion, Mindarie and Laura Canham, our Celebrant who were our guardian angels throughout the whole process. They answered every 3am email, calmed every nerve and have now become our friends.” “Our honeymoon plans were foiled last year thanks to Covid. We had planned and booked a six-week adventure across America from New York to LA but instead we are now building our dream house by the beach!”

Rachel Horner met Genevieve Free in 2014 on a dating app. “The app ‘Brenda’ doesn’t seem to exist anymore. After our first date, we quickly made plans for a second... and third... and fourth date, all in the span of a week.”

“Gen proposed in early 2019. We had travelled down to Brisbane for a friend’s birthday. On Saturday morning, I woke up to a rainy day and Gen was strangely insistent on going for a walk. Her dog, Sassy, wanted to head back home before we’d even entered the bush! Luckily we continued and halfway through our walk, Gen stopped on a hill and said how much she loved me (and I still didn’t catch on somehow). Gen went down on one knee and asked me to marry her. So it was pretty low-key but totally perfect. We were just walking along holding hands, hanging out with Sassy and having a good morning. She caught me completely by surprise!” “Our wedding theme is probably best described as Garden/Romantic. However, when planning we really leaned into the things we love and who we are for inspiration, which is how we got to dinosaurs hiding in the centre pieces and an owl flying in with the rings!” “I loved sneaking peeks at everything throughout the morning, watching our beautiful arbour being put together and peeking into our reception to see the centre pieces coming together and everything getting set up. One of our absolute favourite moments was during our cake cutting when we had fireworks go off behind us. We watched everyone’s surprised faces and had a little boogie to ‘Heaven is a Place on Earth’ while all our loved ones clapped along. It was definitely a highlight having Luna the owl fly in to deliver our rings! Gen especially loved that we were able to dance and just being able to celebrate with our loved ones was its own kind of magic. We are very aware of just how blessed we were to get married with our friends and family there to witness it.”

“Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is don’t be afraid to do what makes you happy and don’t feel like you have to partake in any traditions you don’t want to. The thought of our first dance in front of everyone was making us nervous so about a week before the wedding, we just decided not to do it. Instead we opened the dance floor with a first dance with everyone and it was one of my favourite moments! We had our first dance in private in the gardens, under fairy lights, with just our photographer and got to have that beautiful moment that we personally would have struggled to enjoy with everyone watching on. My other big piece of advice is to hire vendors you trust and listen to their advice! All of our vendors had amazing ideas and kept everything running so smoothly. We had a magical day with little to no stress (and planning was a breeze too!). We are so grateful for our amazing wedding day and can’t thank our vendors enough!” “For our honeymoon, we went on a road trip up the Queensland coast to Cairns and Port Douglas, stopping along the way wherever took our fancy! We snorkelled the reef, saw kangaroos on the beach at sunrise, went to aquariums and animal sanctuaries, went to arcades, walked in the rainforest, swam in creeks, ate so much delicious food and sang along loudly and badly in the car. We had a blast!”

Caitlin and Inez met when they started working together in 2013. “In fact, we started our respective positions within a week of each other and bonded over being newbies! We found out we had a lot in common which led to out-of-work catchups. Soon we went by the moniker of ‘work-wives’ and it was a sad day when Caitlin left the workplace and we had a ‘work divorce’. Our strong friendship persevered and eventually blossomed into something more. From work-wives to everything-wives, we can’t wait to continue to experience life together!”

“We were holidaying in Byron Bay and Caitlin had been thinking of proposing for a while. She encouraged me to do some beachside yoga for an hour so that she could sneakily/ frantically purchase a ring. Caitlin considered proposing at a later date on a special occasion, but that same day we had a lovely relaxing day by the pool (something we both enjoy) and Caitlin impulsively made the decision to just go for it and propose in the hotel room.” “Our ceremony was held under a Jacaranda tree, so we knew we wanted purple to feature. We designed a lot of our stationery ourselves (invitations, place cards, table numbers and seating plans) so that we could get exactly what we wanted. I (Inez) love fairy lights so we knew we wanted the fairy light backdrop and fairy lights to feature along the tables to add that extra magical feel. Ultimately, our main goal was for us and all our guests to have a good time, so we were aiming for a relaxed vibe.” “A wedding day highlight was the ‘first look’ reveal at the house. We got ready in the same house but in different rooms. Also, having our family and friends with us on the day knowing they were there to celebrate our love. A highlight for Caitlin was when I played her favourite song on a hired piano as a surprise wedding gift.”

“Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is to create a dedicated joint email account for emailing wedding vendors and suppliers, and for your RSVPs. Also have a budget range rather than a specific amount. Have a way of tracking the contact details of different wedding vendors, cost and when payments are due, like a spreadsheet. This will come in very handy when you need to send information to multiple people. Have a plan for the day and allocate extra time for every step because as everyone says, time will fly by, but don’t worry if things change, because they will! Just enjoy your special day! Remember it’s your day – take some time to just sit back and take it all in.” “We spent our honeymoon on Hamilton Island.”

Cameron Brown and Hayden Barrington met through Tinder and quickly organised their first date. While Hayden didn’t have high hopes, Cameron (after a string of disappointing dates), had a feeling about this one! Cameron arrived early for the date and waited, and waited. After seven minutes, he was sure he had been stood up. He was about to leave when Hayden messaged to say he was running a little late. Cameron decided that was a sign and stayed. “Together we went to a local cafe for coffee and hit it off from the start. We talked for two hours. After brunch, we decided to go to a local beach, only to find the wind was too strong and whipping up the sand. We went to a local public garden and had one of those conversations that you felt your life laid out before you, completely secure in the fact that you were sharing intimate details. By a stream, amongst beautiful vibrant foliage, we had our first kiss. Our personal connection had been intrinsic and led to our physical connection feeling so natural. When Hayden dropped me back to my car, there was a moment when we both felt we didn’t want to leave each other’s company. Hayden asked what I was doing the next evening and just like that, our next date was organised.”

“I proposed first. We designed our engagement rings together so it wasn’t entirely a surprise. I took Hayden out for some wine tasting and cheese before getting frozen yoghurt and going for a walk along the waterfront. This was our idea of a perfect date together. I stopped Hayden at the bench along the waterfront. This was the same bench that we both had originally said ‘I love you’ to each other a couple of years earlier. I got down on one knee, pulled the ring box out of my jacket pocket and proposed. Hayden said ‘Yes’. Then six months later, Hayden proposed to me by taking me to Barangaroo Reserve and proposing while looking out over the harbour, which was followed by a delicious dinner of dumplings.” “For our wedding, we wanted a classy theme without being overstated. We kept it simple with white, black and gold when it came to decorations, partly taking inspiration from the design of our wedding cake. The reception was held at 1908 Cronulla, a restaurant in a repurposed church. The decor is modern, black and white with natural elements contrasting with exposed concrete, marble surfaces and a neo-gothic roof. We decided before choosing decor for the ceremony that I would wear a red velvet jacket and Hayden a navy textured jacket complemented with black pants and shoes, and a white French cuff shirt.”

“For both of us, the biggest highlight was our dance together as a couple. Because of Covid restrictions, we were unable to have a proper dance floor at our reception but thankfully were able to have the first dance ourselves. We did this as a part of the ceremony after our vows and the signing of our certificate. We played ‘Grow as we Go’ by Ben Platt. Our parents and wedding party all held the end of streamers that wrapped around us as we slow danced to the song. It was a beautiful moment that brought tears to many an eye in the room, as we were both symbolically and physically brought together and supported by our friends and family.” “Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is to plan early and relax later. Keep it simple and collaborate on everything. It is not a single person’s responsibility to plan something for your wedding, you’re not ‘just helping out’. You’re in this together for the long run, so start it off like that with the planning. We were saved from many headaches by simply going with our instincts, working together and cutting back on things that were unnecessary traditions that we didn’t want to include. Consider having a ‘go to’ person on the day. This is someone that you trust to support the proper running of the wedding who has been fully briefed on the running plan. Someone who can handle any problems on the day so you don’t have the added stress of dealing with it yourself. Cameron’s Dad was super helpful in this role on the day. You spend months planning a wedding, but it’s really only one day in the end. Relax and enjoy it, and remember, if anything goes wrong, chances are it won’t actually matter. What matters is the people you love can be there to celebrate with you. Luxuriate in that, and you’ll have a great day.”

”We planned a honeymoon cruise to the South Pacific for two glorious weeks but unfortunately, due to Covid, the cruise was cancelled and we still haven’t managed to get away due to work commitments. We are planning a long weekend in the Barossa Valley and looking forward to this time away together.”

Courtney Crabtree and Jasmine Ivett met at work. Courtney proposed to Jasmine. “It was a weekend-long event, starting with a dinner and movie date on the Friday evening. Initially the idea was to re-enact the first date, minus the mishaps, however due to the rain, wet-weather plans were initiated. Sienna was dropped off for a play with her cousin Abbie and Courtney asked Jasmine to close her eyes until arrival at the destination. With eyes closed, Jasmine was escorted out of the car to the doorway of Courtney’s home, where Jasmine was greeted with sounds of her favourite songs and a fairy-light pathway leading to a picnic rug laid out with carefully selected drinks and nibbles. Dancing, dancing and more dancing occurred when finally, the song Courtney was going to propose to, was played. Down on one knee, she asked Jasmine to be her fiancee and she said ‘YES’. Sienna was dropped off to share in the love and Courtney gave Sienna a ring of her own as a symbol of her commitment to us as a family. On arrival back at Jasmine’s home, a prearranged party of immediate family members was waiting to celebrate with dinner and cake. It was a memorable evening.”

She was happy to lose the debate knowing that she’d get her girl forever.” “Being the organised person she is, Steph had three proposals in mind that she was going to choose after Chloe had proposed. After Chloe proposed to Steph, Steph decided that she would propose on the same day (as the date was special). Steph convinced Chloe that despite the overcast, cold day, it would be nice to go to the beach. While laying on the beach, Steph told Chloe that we should recreate our first photo together. She was confused at first and said that we weren’t wearing the same clothes… but I said I wanted to create the photo with both of our engagement rings. I proposed and of course Chloe said ‘Yes’.”

Charmaine Facciol and Samantha Lynch met back in mid 2015. “We matched on trusty old Tinder and conversation was instant and continuous in the fortnight that followed. We decided to meet in person on the 18th of July 2015 and in classic ‘U-Haul’ style, haven’t left each other’s sides ever since.”

Sam proposed to Charmaine in February 2017. “She secretly had my best friend organise a ‘catch up’ with me, so I wouldn’t plan anything myself. Sam was supposed to be on day shift, so I was none the wiser. The night before, Sam broke it to me that she had planned to take the day off work so we could spend some time together. The thought crossed my mind that maybe she was going to propose, but we had been talking about ‘a day just for us’ for a while, so I wasn’t 100% sold that she was going to pop the big question. That day, she spoilt me. She woke me early to straighten my hair and then took me out for a coffee at our favourite cafe before dropping me off at a day spa for two hours. During that time, I felt certain that ‘today was the day’ until she picked me up, looking amazing and dressed up, she said to me, ‘When we get home, I need you to get dressed as we are picking up Katelyn (our sister-in-law) and heading out for a girl’s lunch’. This completely threw me off course! The three of us arrived at Port Willunga for lunch at The Star of Greece. Sam had planned for Katelyn to come along and distract me by taking me to the bathroom, while she set up her proposal in the caves down on the beach. I remember going to meet Sam at the front door of the restaurant after our bathroom stop but she was nowhere to be seen. Katelyn grabbed my hand and said, ‘Come with me’. She handed Sam’s phone to me and pressed play on a video that Sam had made of our time together. I watched this with the music ‘Marry Me’ by Train as Katelyn walked me down the ramp to the beach where Sam was waiting for me. I could see a sign saying ‘Will you marry me?’ which was surrounded by cushions, candles and a bottle of champagne. Sam took me over to her set up and popped the question! It was magical and a very emotional experience. We laughed, cried and couldn’t stop smiling. Of course I said ‘Yes’. We took in every moment of the experience and walked back up to the restaurant where we enjoyed an amazing lunch, with ocean views, delicious food and wonderful wine. It didn’t end there! Sam had also organised a dinner in the winery region of McLaren Vale where she treated us to a dinner at one of our favourite wineries. The day was perfect, our families were amazing and the wedding planning started the next day!”

“Our wedding inspiration was ‘Modern Rustic’. The entire day was more than we could have wished for. We were both completely overwhelmed with the love and support of everyone. Having all our favourite people together in one place to celebrate our marriage was amazing and something we continue to be very grateful for. The anticipation of seeing each other at the ceremony for the first time as we stepped out in front of ‘our door’ was a moment we will never forget. The vibe of our reception was another highlight. The dance floor started before the entrees came out and the room was exploding with happiness and energy that is hard to put into words. Everyone was beaming and having a good time. Little did we know that this would be the last time for a while that we would be able to have this many people in one space and dance without restrictions as a few days later, we were put into Covid lockdown. It’s nearly like we all subconsciously knew that this would be the ‘last hurrah’ for a while!” “Our advice for other couples is to try and enjoy the experience and keep a folder of all things wedding, so you don’t lose track of where you are up to and keep within your budget.” “We had a road trip planned around the South Island of New Zealand for our honeymoon. The day after our wedding, NZ shut its border due to Covid. We knew our honeymoon had been cancelled, so at that point we decided to road trip to Western Australia instead. Over the coming week, all State borders had closed, so we ended up camping in our backyard and spending two weeks at home together in ‘lockdown’ and having a ‘homeymoon’ instead! We had the best time and we were just grateful we snuck in our wedding before Covid starting having an impact.”

Luke Schubert and Leighton Jacques were introduced by the Artistic Director of the Feast Festival, which is an annual LGBTIQ festival held in Adelaide. When Luke was performing at the Mars Bar, a local gay nightclub, as his drag queen alter ego Princess Laya, Leighton interrupted the show and proposed on stage in front of a live audience. He got down on one knee and slipped a very large, fake diamond costume ring on Princess Laya’s finger, which she wore for the rest of the show.

“Our wedding theme was Black, Gold and Silver, Masculine with a touch of elegance. We had Vintage 1950s Rolls Royce cars and wore matching three-piece morning suits. There were so many highlights such as spending time getting ready with our best men and getting out of the cars to see so many familiar smiling faces waiting in anticipation. The food was absolutely delicious and there was a lot of it. Leighton’s driver was an original 78er, a group of LGBT activists who marched in the original Sydney Mardi Gras on 24 June 1978. Seeing us get married made him cry tears of joy. Another highlight was the impromptu dancing into our wedding reception. We learnt the choreography 30 seconds before entering and aced it!”

“Our advice for other couples planning their wedding is you’ve spent all this time planning but the big day will go past super fast. Make sure you take time for yourself to take it all in. Take visual snapshots so that you can remember all of the special moments and hold onto those precious memories for years to come. Don’t stress! Remember to enjoy your day, even if something doesn’t go according to plan. Kylie Flanagan and Tegan Kearney were friends long before they decided they wanted to spend their lives together. “We went to high school together and formed a great friendship long before we knew our destiny. As friends, we celebrated each other’s successes, including Kylie being accepted into Veterinary Science in Brisbane. Feeling change would be good, we made the move to Brisbane in our early 20’s. It was a great experience and was where our friendship developed into the loving connection it is now.” Tegan proposed to Kylie first while on a weekend getaway in Jindabyne, before Australia legally had acknowledged same sex marriage. “The fact that our union was not considered legal (yet) didn’t matter. We wanted people to know of our feelings towards each other. A few months after the surprise proposal, Kylie asked Tegan to marry her whilst on the Geelong Ferris Wheel.”

“We are all about sparkle, glitter, glam and shine! Our initial planning involved having our initials turned into a coloured neon sign which would become the main centrepiece to our wedding, creating a lovely purple and pink hue over the reception! Our colour theme was pink, purple, silver and black.” Kylie’s colour was purple and Tegan’s was pink and the mothers of the brides dressed in the corresponding colours! “During our weekend at Jindabyne when Tegan proposed, we had a lovely lunch at the Wildbrumby Distillery which was a fitting tie to Kylie’s love of horses and our shared love of coloured alcohol! We even thought we might like to get married up there but logistics cemented our wedding in Geelong. As a nod to Jindabyne, our bonbonnieres were personalised schnapps bottles from this distillery.” “The ceremony was held at Tegan’s family home in Geelong West. An unwavering forecast of constant rain culminated in us needing to hire a marquee at the last minute. The backyard was simply stunning after months of flower tending and lawn sculpting and the weather didn’t dampen the celebration at all! The brides, accompanied by both their parents, walked down the aisle to ‘Wild Horses’ by The Sundays, meeting each other at the top of the aisle and then walking each other down. This is our favourite memory from the day - that feeling of seeing each other for the first time after a morning of being apart!”

“The Pier was the venue for the reception and it certainly lived up to the spectacular celebration we had planned for our 103 guests! The lights, sparkle and fireworks really shone at this awesome venue. Our personalised K&T neon sign provided a glowing backdrop to the bridal table and our K&T logo was a prominent feature through our invitations and theming for the night. Centrepieces and name places included a touch of our glitter wallpaper that was left over from a feature wall in our bedroom as well as lots of mirrors, crystal, lights and sparkle! Our celebrant Jermaine Clarke was also our MC for the night and certainly created the party fun vibe we wanted for our celebration!! Our awesome bridal waltz mash up was choreographed by Emily at Geelong School of Dance and completely topped off with pyrotechnics from Geelong Fireworks. The celebrations ended with our sparklers exit. The sparklers burnt for 4 minutes which gave us plenty of time to farewell all our guests.” “Our advice to couples planning their wedding is to use local businesses. Our local suppliers could do pretty much anything. Our personalised neons and lasercut name places, signage, menus, wishing well, guest book and even our awesome photobooth were all sourced locally from Geelong. We really are lucky to have so many great craftspeople, so look local first! And on the day, make sure you stop and savour the day with your partner as it really does go fast! And don’t let a little rain dampen your day. In the end, most of your guests won’t even remember it rained!” “We spent our honeymoon in Thailand and the Maldives.”

Outback Romance “This collaborative shoot showcases the Pilbara Region of Northern WA, only minutes from the town of Karratha. It may not be somewhere couples think of as a perfect wedding destination but we are hoping to change some minds. Our goal is to show couples they can create their dream wedding or elopement right here in their own backyard, or ‘The Outback’ as it is known. Without the need for travel or seeking vendors from other regions, we wanted to show couples there’s an easy way to plan a wedding or elopement in these Covid times.
