To celebrate our 15 year anniversary we have designed a limited-edition collection that embraces travel; the catalyst and inspiration behind Nkuku. The capsule collection includes luxurious leather travel wallets, journals, travel pouches and luggage accessories; perfect for accompanying you on your next journey, wherever it may be.

A passion for travel and culture underpins Nkuku, along with a determination to make a positive impact on the world. It was over fifteen years ago that we set out on what was to become a life-changing adventure; travelling the world and coming across talented craftspeople and their beautiful work along the way. We borrowed the name ‘Nkuku’ (Nuhku-ku) from a hut in Zambia and wrote our business plan on the cover of a paper back. Our first order was for exquisite leather journals that we still sell today.

We were inspired by the artisans we met but were also aware of the challenges they faced.

Eco Friendly We care about the environment and this has an impact on how we go about our work. We work with natural and recycled materials through sustainable methods of production and this shapes our collections.

Handmade We want to make sure that age-old traditions are handed onto future generations. This is one of the reasons why handmade products create the core of our business. The relationship between an artisan and a beautiful handmade piece creates a story and makes each product not a mass market item, but an individually crafted piece.

Our team and products may have grown, but we still have the same hands-on approach, meeting and working with all of our artisans personally. We believe this is our point of difference and how we know that

The collection includes beautiful leather journals with wrap around leather ties. Our rustic journals are handmade from leather by a cooperative of 40 families using traditional methods. The leather is dyed using natural tree bark and vegetable extract.
