PROBLEM Although tea serving has a lot to do with Turkish culture, the way people serve and consume the tradional black tea turned out to be nothing close to a sustainable nor an engaging pracce.
PURPOSE The aim of the project is to increase the sustainability of the tea set considering the material choice and the packaging, and to increase the engagement of the user with the set by altering the form.
SUSTAINABLE ENGAGING MODERN
MARKETRESEARCH Tea glasses are diversed in their volume, form, and ornaments. Both tea glasses and saucers have various cross-secons in the market. Only the saucers have different material opons.
INTERVIEW AYŞE Age 35 New business owner Passerie in Ankara, Turkey Ayşe believes that Turkish people will not ever cease to consume tea. She states that it will always be an ever-lasng tradion. However she is concerned with the way how tea is being consumed. She complains about the fact that paper cups are being spreadly used nowadays, and she believes that it contradicts with the nature of Turkish tea culture. She likes serving products with less ornaments and a simple, yet elegant apperance.
MODELMAKING
The saucer is modelled layer by layer out of cardboard. The middle of the saucer is heightened to stabilize the glass on top of it, and for a more balanced service when the boďż˝om is supported with a ďŹ nger.
MODELMAKING
All packages beneďŹ t from bent beams and columns to stabilize the products inside. This structure secures the products, making it harder for them to be slipped o to be broken.
3DMODELLING
The saucer comes with 3 material opons that are stainless steel, ceramic and glass.
3DMODELLING
Saucers are being displayed in an order when unpacked.
All products could easily be alligned since all packagings beneďŹ t from an orthogonal appearance.

trigid well-thought illuminaon 2018 in collobraon with
PROBLEM Since outdoor lighng units stand as both technical and sculptural products, they are responsible of both providing sasfacon by means of illuminaon and visual harmony. Based on that, METU demands a sustainable outdoor lighng family that also corresponds to the visual integrity of the campus.
PURPOSE Orthogonal appearence of the products, and explicit display of the materials are intended to emphasize the brutalist approach of the campus. As a polical statement, triangular shapes are intended emphasize the endurance of the campus against what is out of its borders to change the METU mindset. Since the triangle is the most rigid shape in geometry, and extremely resistant against external forces, Trigid is formed out of triangular shapes.
SUSTAINABLE SCULPTURAL MAINTAINABLE FUNCTIONAL
SKETCHES Illuminaon in two direcons.
MODELMAKING Since the ďŹ xture is intended to be produced by casďż˝ng, styrofoam mimics the organic curvatures. Material: Styrofoam Finishing: Spray Painted
Since the bollard is intended to be produced by bending, cardboard mimics the orthographic appearance. Material: Cardboard Finishing: Spray Painted
MODELMAKING
Both the bollard and the wall mount ďŹ xture were placed in the campus.
3DMODELLING The bollard and the pole top fixture are designed to illuminate in two direcons. Front illuminaon is meant to suffice the enlightenment of a larger area than the rear illuminaon. While the front illuminaon is designed to enlighten circulaon paths, rear illuminaon is designed to enlighten natural environment.
The wall-mount fixture funcons in a close manner. Lower illuminaon is meant to suffice the enlightenment of a larger area than the upper illuminaon. While the lower illuminaon is designed to enlighten circulaon paths, upper illuminaon is designed to enlighten labels and walls.
3DMODELLING Products are rendered in the campus environment.

easel ease painters of the future 2016
PROBLEM Art equipments for children are limited. An easel, one of the many equipments, provide beer engagement with the artwork throughout the art-making process. It improves posture while supporng the canvas. Ulmately, equipments are intended to movate children to make art. Equipments should suggest a joyful experience that encourage children to engage with art again and again.
PURPOSE Easel Ease is intended to make it easier for children to benefit from an easel. The easel could easily be assembled, and adjusted to the preferred inclinaon. Easel Ease also aimed for children to have fun while making art. That’s why the easel conceals its structural elements, and reveals its sculptural look to create a friendly environment.
STRUCTURAL BALANCED EASY-ASSEMBLE ENCOURAGING
MODELMAKING Legs of the easel could be extended to adjust the inclinaon.
The easel could be folded to be carried easily. Four hangers could be used to stabilize the canvas from four corners.

PROBLEM Glass packagings are designed to protect the glass from being broken. They also play a great role in markeng glass products. However, not many glass packagings are an-break. Glass products could easily be set free as the packaging tears up.
PURPOSE Safe-Tea is designed to protect glass products like no other paper-based packaging does. The packaging ensures the safety of tea glasses when the packaging is dropped from the height of a meter. Also, a sophiscated graphic design was prepared to cover the cardboard of the packaging. The cover enhances the durability of the packaging by adding another layer that ghtens up the packaging even more. In addion, graphics are intended to increase the sale. In that sense, the simple and clean design of the graphics is a comsumer-magnet.
SECURE RELIABLE CLEAN SIMPLE
USAGE
The packaging is being displayed.
It is placed horizontally to unpack the tea glasses.
Each tea glass have its own cover to be taken o. This prevents all glasses to be set free in the case of an impact.
Each glass is placed in a mount that accepts them vercally, and locks them when they are ipped in 90 degrees to be horizontal.
Same principle works for the other side of the packaging.

PROBLEM Cutlery sets today are not intended to enhance the dining experience of the users. Most of them lack the aenon on the user considering their comfort, or lack an approach to diversify the set from any other by means of altering the appeance of the products.
PURPOSE A cutlery set is a significant element in dining experience. A set plays a crucial role in enhancing or maintaining the visual integrity of a dinning table. A set is consisted of seperate tools that have only one goal, that is to enable the users to engage with what is served on the table. Acri cutlery set is intended to provide an aesthec look on a table and to suggest a comfortable engagement with the elements of the set. By making use of an organic form that both provides a sophiscated look, and easens the use.
EASY TO USE ENGAGING AESTHETIC DYNAMIC MODERN
MODELMAKING Both the fork and the spoon beneďŹ ts from the same upper surface that is bent to support both the palm and the ďŹ ngers in use.
The bent surfaces that wraps and overlaps each other provide a dynamic and modern look.
