SundĂ¸ya Fjordhotel was first built in 1931 to serve upper market in the Oslo region. Visitors enjoyed unspoiled nature and exquisite dining in luxurious surroundings. Our off-plan hotel will probably be the only hotel in Europe situated on the edge of two different lakes. The lake Steinsfjorden to the North famous for its crayfish, and lake Tyrifjorden to the South filled with royal history dating back to the Kings of the Viking era. The hotel project is located in the Ringerike region only 30 minutes from Oslo and 40 minutes to the ski destination Norefjell that held part of the 1952 Olympic Winter Games. Environmental friendly, luxury design, relaxation and health are key factors in the project. The hotel will also include business center, small shops, meeting facilities and other crucial services in order to satisfy our guests.

All guest rooms will enjoy panoramic view of the lake. Size, standard and design will be according to requirements from operator. 5.500 sq. m. are held for guest room purposes, meaning the number can vary from 100 to 250 rooms.

Lars Pedersen (1818–1890) var tømmermann, født på en plass i Urskleiva under Sørum (trolig Jota), og gift med Dorthea Olsdatter (1821–1904). I 1840-årene satt de på plassen Biliberget under Bili. Vi kjenner fire av deres barn:

* Inger Karoline (1845–1920), g. 1872 m. Petter Olsen (1850–1944), husmannssønn i Jensrud under Stein, de bodde på Sundøya fra 1870 til rundt 1890, seinere i Nordløkka i Sundvollen, fem barn: Lars (f. 1870, seinere husmann i Orlangen og eier av Lårvikkleiva (Lyse), g.m. Karen fra Norderhov, to barn: Marta og Peter), Edvard (f. 1873), Dorthea (g.m. Ola Larsen, vaktmester ved Lilleaker skole i Oslo, én datter Lovise som var lærerinne, bygde Høgberget (Borgås, gnr. 52/33) i Sundvollen som feriested), Hans (f. 1882, i 1900 lå han som tømmerkjører på Kneikasetra med faren), Karen (1885–1964, ugift, seinere eier av Nordløkka gnr. 52/12). * Karen Olava (f. 1849), g. 1874 m. husmann Gulbrand Larsen (f. 1839) i Steinsbakken under Stein (enkemann,). De bodde på Sundøya i 1880 og 1883, da to av hans barn fra første ekteskap ble konfirmert,6 og i 1900 bodde de i Bjørsrud ved Trøksle i Sundvollen (da var Gulbrand "fisker og forpagter"). De hadde ingen felles barn, men tok til seg en gutt som reiste til Amerika, hvor han ble utkalt som soldat i Den første verdenskrig og falt på slagmarken i Frankrike. Karen Olava fikk siden krigspensjon fra USA etter sønnen. * Hans Peter (1854–1925), tømmermann, g. 1874 m. Nikoline (Lina) Nils-

Lars (f. 1866) og Karen (f. 1867) ble konfirmert i 1880 og 1883, og da bodde faren og stemora på Sundøya. Gulbrand Larsens første kone het Randine Johannesdatter (f. 1833 i Norderhov). Vi kjenner ytterligere tre av deres barn: Karen (f. 1861, d. som barn), Anne (f. 1861) og Johan (f. 1863).

Sundøya is an island dividing the lakes Steinsfjorden and Tyrifjorden. A luxury restaurant was built in 1931, and has made the place nationwide well known. Habitation on the island is registered back to 1800, and people made their way of living by ferrytransport until the bridge and road was built in 1854. Room and board was offered to travelers already at this time. The island was a croft until late 1920`s. Their low family income often resulted in hunger and the children caught fish embryo they cooked in tin cans and consumed them as from the lake. Royal families, Hignesses, Presidents and Ministers from all over the world have visited our former restaurant over the years. One minister from China even insisted on taking a doggy bag with him on the plane, which made our Chef very proud.

SundĂ¸ya Fjordhotel will be the preferred escape for GCC travelers to Europe both during the very hot summers in the Middle East and during the spectacular winters in Norway. Through our partners we will offer packages to suit the guests; whether as individual visitors and groups or families. Specialized food and beverage, professional dietary advice and training and fitness programs will be offered. Our small marina will hold boats for tours around the lake combined with camp excursions to one of the many other islands in the lakes. Or just for a fishing trip. Outdoor pools will be a spectacular experience. Also when the cold winters hit minus 20 degrees and you enjoy the hot water and fantastic scenery.
