How is dad ?
Dad is happy and enjoying himself with all the attention he gets, for which he is grateful, but his situation is not good.
After his internal bleedings, which have
been stopped, he has lost a lot of weight, can't walk, sleeps a lot and doesn't eat regular food anymore. Special energy drinks provide some energy boosts. He could live for months and longer but it could also happen that one of these days he just stops breathing in his sleep.
He doesn’t behave as if he is sad and he doesn’t feel sad. Dad put a positive spin on his situation. Ninety-five going ninety-six is a good age he says with a smile which makes it also fun to go see him.
Lately he stopped drinking the energy drink and now it is chocolate milk, apple juice and water only. A consolation is that we know that he is in good hands, the caregivers do love him too and take very good care of him.
