Japan is a culture with many contradictions for Western thinking and doing. An Asian country that is Western orientated in politics and culture but since living in Japan I started to see the way people think, do things and interact is different than it first looked. The Japanese language and interaction, on personal and professional level, between people is riddled with symbolic gestures and codes. Sometimes even confusing for the Japanese themselves. To complicate things more, the old and the new conflict with each other and at the same time live peaceful next to and inside each other.
