2014-2015 DIRECTORY OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR TEACHERS AND SCHOOLS

The SCC creates and distributes the Directory for Teachers, but what is the SCC?

The Scientific and Cultural Collaborative (SCC) is a non-profit partnership of cultural organizations. who support the SCC by utilizing funds from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District. The SCC serves to unify our diverse partners by enhancing communication, building opportunities for collaboration and support, and with direct services to the public. In addition to this annual Directory, other SCC endeavors include: • The Alliance Project — a grant for public middle schools grades providing curriculum-based programs • Educational Pathways — funding to help pay for programs and transportation for schools, scouts, senior citizen centers and other non-profits.

...and the SCFD? What’s that?

Since 1989 the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has distributed funds from a sales and use tax equalling one penny on every 10 dollars in the 7-county metro area. SCFD supports cultural activities annually distributing over $30 million to 300+ diverse groups promoting the arts, science, nature, history, and much more.
