The Fruits of their Labor are Good Don't be afraid to shake the branches of your family's ancestral tree, For I am sure that you will be pleased with the fruit that falls from its protective leaves. Luke 6:44 tells us that each tree is known by the fruit it bears, So don't be afraid to shake your family tree to see what interesting fruit appears. Our ancestors tactfully tended and nicely nurtured our tree with a green thumb, Using wisdom for water, religion as soil and self respect the fertilizer for a greater outcome. On a firm foundation, our tree proudly continues to stand, For we couldn't prosper if our ancestors stood on sinking sand. On Christ the solid rock, from bondage, to freedom, to righteousness, they each so strongly stood, So naturally from its leaves and branches produce fruit that is good. "It is good" like God himself said on the sixth day, as he admired all that he created, Our ancestors can smile from the heavens above and proudly view the fruits of their labor. Such as preachers, pastors, and many church leaders, We have singers, dancers, musicians and teachers. Nurses, athletes, counselors, professors, Mothers, fathers, grandparents, and actors. Fruits who are doctors, masters and top professionals in their trade, Our ancestors gave their best and we are the shining evidence of what they made. Their view must be stunning since we do resemble them, With our good looks, charm and fabulous beauty reaching from stem to stem. So don't be afraid to shake the branches of your family's ancestral tree, For I am sure that you will be pleased with the fruit that falls from its protective leaves. Let’s continue to tend to it, nicely nurture it with a green protective thumb, Because with all of our hard labor and faith, more magnificent fruits are still yet to come. - Jonella Davis Davis
