Selected volunteers from the community are trained as a water committee and a plan is established for sustainability.

4. IMPLEMENT Community members participate in construction of the system and in WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) training.

After a long lifetime without clean water, Emilia now enjoys the new community water system in Turputia, Peru.

Water committee members are trained to use and maintain the system, and we provide them with tools to continue with upkeep.

Local staff follow up with the community after project completion to ensure success.
