Disaster and Comfort!
The first half of 2024 brought with it a shocking number of natural disasters—with tornadoes, wildfires, or floods in the news almost daily. And you have taken this opportunity to offer God’s comfort to those who are suffering through some of the hardest situations life can throw at a person. Only through the faithful support of you and so many other caring souls have we been able to deploy to multiple disasters around the world, often simultaneously. Thanks to you, Operation Blessing has been able to respond time and time again with encouragement, love, and tangible aid for victims of these heartbreaking tragedies.

EARTHQUAKE in Taiwan
An outlier this year was a powerful earthquake in Taiwan. While much of the country weathered it relatively well, the indigenous Taroko tribe was hit particularly hard. So friends like you blessed them with emergency food supplies and new water tanks to replace those destroyed by the quake.

TORNADOES across America
In early 2024, devastating tornadoes tore through multiple states, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. John from Blair, Nebraska, shared his harrowing experience: “The house is shaking, windows start breaking... the second story of the house gets lifted off, the front of the house gets lifted off, the garage is getting destroyed… we walked out and we have nothing.”
But thanks to your generous support, Operation Blessing responded swiftly, bringing hope and practical assistance to those in need. Because of friends like you, John and countless others didn’t face the aftermath alone.
In Wapakoneta, Ohio, where many homes were destroyed, your support provided hotel accommodations and daily meals for survivors like Robert, a veteran and widower. He said, “I’m very grateful to Operation Blessing for… offering me the care that I need.”

WILDFIRES in
Chile and Texas
Deadly fires swept across multiple regions this year, with Chile experiencing the worst in their nation’s history and Texas battling its largest wildfire ever. Thankfully, because of friends like you, we were able to bring help and hope to the hurting.
In Chile, fires quickly moved into densely populated areas, causing at least 130 deaths and injuring over 1,000 people. Our international disaster relief team rushed to the scene to tend to the injured as well as provide much-needed supplies.
Jacqueline, whose sewing machines were destroyed by the fire, received new equipment to restart her business. She shared, “This beautiful gift means a lot to me. Now I am able to move on—we are going to be all right.”

The Smokehouse Creek Fire in Texas affected over 60 counties and caused significant livestock loss. Your support provided cleaning supply kits, hygiene care supplies, water, and emergency meals. “It’s not true that cowboys don’t cry,” Shannon, an affected rancher said with tears in his eyes. He continued, “It’s real special to have Operation Blessing here.”

FLOODING in Texas and Brazil
Relief reached disaster victims after floods overwhelmed them in Cleveland, Texas. We provided essential supplies and spiritual comfort to those affected. Because of caring people like you, hundreds of people received emergency assistance—including a homeless community displaced by the floods. That’s just what you do—step in as a hero for the hurting.
Caused by relentless flooding, a dam break in Brazil sent a cascade of destruction crashing into houses and businesses across Novo Hamburgo. Suddenly, hundreds of thousands of people were homeless, leaving families struggling to recover. But heroes like you reached out in compassion to help thousands through Operation Blessing.

Ana, a mother who recently returned to her flood-damaged home in Brazil, shared her gratitude. “This food box has all of the basics that will help me out,” she said. “It’s so heartwarming to receive help from people all over the world, because sometimes we can feel forgotten. So, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.”
