Winemaker Alvaro Martin creates the wines of Botas de Barro from classic regions across Spain including Ribera del Duero, Toro, Jumilla and Léon. The portfolio pays tribute to the generations of grape growers who have painstakingly cared for Spain’s old vines over the years. Botas de Barro means “muddy boots:” this image on the label symbolizes the hard work and effort poured into every bottle.

Prieto Picudo is a rare grape variety indigenous to the Léon region. This bottle delivers great value with aromas of ripe raspberry, cherry, red currant, plum and violet. The rich, red fruit core shows notes of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and plum supported by bright acidity. 2023-2025 – lw

As one of the driest regions in Spain, Jumilla a prime area for growing Monastrell. The bouquet of the 2021 Botas de Barro Monastrell reveals notes of plum, oak spice, leather, cured meat and herb. The palate is more fruit focused with an appealing profile of plum, blackberry, currant, black raspberry and oak spice. With a solid tannin structure, this is a good alternative for Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah. 2023–2026

The bouquet of the 2021 Botas de Barro Tempranillo is reminiscent of black cherry, black raspberry, plum and cinnamon hearts. The mouthfilling palate is stacked with flavours of plum, black raspberry, blackcurrant and a touch of herb.
