As I reflect on 2022, I celebrate the growth, connections and partnerships that have created stronger communities. Our growth is a direct result of listening and responding to the needs in our local communities.

As ODC celebrates 58 years, we are excited to continue to meet the needs of the community. In 2022, we supported over 1,000 individuals to work, live, and connect to their communities. We opened “Opportunity for Hope,” an outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Wisconsin Rapids. We expanded our Community Day Services, adding a location in Merrill. Our Independent Living Services doubled, supporting over 70 individuals to live independently. We hired

ODC’s Social Enterprises contribute to ODC’s mission AND provide opportunities for employment training. Milkweed Market, our home décor retail store transformed to provide job training for individuals on their path to employment. Two individuals who have started their own business sell their items in Milkweed Market. Ink Splash exploded in growth with an online ordering platform and fundraising opportunities for businesses.

Community support for ODC continued to flourish. We increased awareness of ODC’s services in new areas and hosted our first annual Fore Hope Golf Benefit at Sand Valley Resort.

As I share what was accomplished in 2022, I am full of gratitude for the individuals we support, the employees of ODC and the generous support of our communities. We are excited to see what we can accomplish together in 2023!

odc's mental health services supports adults, adolescents, & children through recovery from mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.

Opportunity For Hope – ODC’s outpatient mental health clinic in Wisconsin Rapids is open!

Our Grand Opening celebration and ribbon cutting was a major success, garnering local and legislative support. Thank you to all who attended and are supporting us in our efforts.

When we learned that there was a significant shortage of outpatient service providers in this area, especially for low-income individuals and those eligible for Medicaid, ODC took action. Our clinic will make sure mental health services are available to all community members who need them, regardless of insurance coverage.

A client recently stated, “I could have cried happy tears when you called me for an appointment. My primary care doctor had told me that it would be a year before I could get in with a counselor because the wait lists were so long. I can’t imagine having to wait that long to talk to someone about all the things I am dealing with. I am so grateful to be able to talk to someone and to start finding joy in my life again.”
