Summer is the perfect time to plan for all the wonderful performances taking the stage in the fall and beyond. Even better, many of our local arts organizations offer subscriptions with premium seating and discounted tickets to their performance series.

ORLANDO BALLET

Orlando Ballet’s 2019-20 season marks the largest production budget in Orlando Ballet history. The upcoming lineup includes new and revamped works, a family season package, and a special return to the stage by Artistic Director Robert Hill — who recently celebrated his 10th anniversary as artistic director.

Robert will make a return to the stage in Jessica Lang’s critically acclaimed work, The Calling. Also for this season, Orlando Ballet is bringing back its Family Season package, ideal for families with young children. The family shows are one-hour condensed versions of select productions. Family shows will be available for The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and Mowgli — The Jungle Book.

ORLANDO PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

This year, the Orlando Philharmonic strivedto bring people together with diverse andcultural inclusivity through the lens of theAmerican Virtuoso. Returning for hisfifth season with the OPO, Music DirectorEric Jacobsen will conduct concerts on eachof the Orchestra’s three main series. Soloistsheadlining the FAIRWINDS ClassicsSeries include a season-opening performanceby acclaimed saxophonist BranfordMarsalis, while Composer-in-ResidenceGabriel Kahane brings his work EmergencyShelter Intake Form to the Bob Carr Theaterstage featuring a choir of membersfrom the Coalition for the Homeless ofCentral Florida.

Enjoy live music for young children, ages 3-7, by Philharmonicmusicians, along with narration and beautiful hand-drawn illustrationsthat bring favorite children’s classics to life. Pre-concertactivities will be held one hour prior to all performances. A ToddlerZone for children up to the age of 2 is also available. DR. PHILLIPS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

A diverse palette of musicians, comedians and entertainers is queued up for Dr. Phillips Center’s fifth full season, including bluegrass sensation Alison Krauss, rock legend Sammy Hagar, up-and-coming quartet The Four Italian Tenors, and Orlando’s own Wayne Brady. Nine Broadway tours will also make a stop in Orlando, from Disney’s Aladdin and Mean Girls to newly announced Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, as part of the 2019-20 FAIR- WINDS Broadway in Orlando series.

The Jazz Orchestra at Dr. Phillips Center, presented by Fifth Third Bank, is set to perform four programs throughout the new season. The orchestra, curated exclusively for Dr. Phillips Center guests, is comprised of professional jazz musicians who travel from all over the country to play together under the direction of acclaimed bassist Rodney Whitaker.
